DWC grow, ANY advice or tips appreciated!

Hello! I'm about to embark on my first DWC grow and I am very excited to say the least. That being said I would like to lay out my current setup, and ANY info to help me would be great. If you think I am doing something wrong, let me know! The pictures I took are mainly to get a better idea but the mylar is unfinished (it will be completely lined when I get more, its sold out nearby) and I'm also waiting on my HPS system to arrive in the mail friday so obviously its not pictured.

Specs -

3x3x3 grow room, that will be lined with mylar. Its actually taller than 3ft (more around 4-5ft) but with the height of the tubs and once the hood is installed I think the grow area will be around 3ft height, maybe a little higher.

600w HPS plus 200w CFL during veg for better spectrum since I dont have a MH. Prob will use for flowering too just to help get sides and bottom of plants too (why not?)

DWC, 2 10gal tubs, 1 plant per tub and 2 air stones in each. You can get a better idea from the picture.

I have 5 feminized AK 48 seeds, but as mentioned above, Ill be doing 1 plant in each tub. So 2 of those for now.

6" fan for intake near bottom (pictured) and another 6" for heat exhaust in the top of room (also pictured). I know it looks like the exhaust is pointing the wrong way but for some reason it blows backwards haha so its not. Its in my basement which stays around 60 degrees or cooler so I think heat should be under control. Those fans are pretty powerful for their size too. If heat does become an issue, ill get an air cooled hood, but I think it'll be fine.

I will be using RO water, with Cutting Edge Solution hydro nutes, Grow, Micro, and Bloom. Calmag as well since I'm using RO. This should be more than enough for the entire grow correct?

Thats about all I cant think of for now. I've done literally days of homework, but advice never hurts! Thanks for your time too! Once its all up and running I may do another post, or start a journal. But yea, I'm excited to hear some feedback.

bigger air pumps/stones. Igloo coolers instead of that flimsy little plastic tote. Water temperature will be an issue.

but then if you say heat won't be an issue heat won't be an issue, a 600 watt light will heat things up a bit though. in the summer you'll def wanna run your room days at night(depending).

Okay, I'll pick up another pump. Two of those instead of one should be good right? Suggestions on stones? I looked into all different kinds and wasn't sure which to go with. Round ones, micros, etc.

I'm guessing with the current totes, high water temps may create root rot then. Could the tubs be altered to work? Only cause I have already dropped over $300 and still need to buy ppm and ph meters, so coolers may not be in the budget. If I can scrounge two coolers up though, you just make the lids with styrofoam right?

and thanks for the quick response! I appreciate the help.

Welcome He Who's Name Must not be Named!

Looks like you have done your homework, with that said, I can't see anything wrong with your setup at this point. Extra points for using RO water. Good luck, subéd!

Awesome, thanks for the response! I'm gonna take dbkicks advice and get another pump just in case. I'll start a journal once its all up and running.

Things look almost ready here nameless..

Are you using the 600hps and cfl at the same time? I dont think you need them both for veg, you could add another cfl with a different specturm to the one you already have if you want to do the Cfl route for veg or just one 600hps for veg - mine are sunmasters and they give out a good coverage of specturm so they can be used through out.
Im not sur if you said you have a carbon filter on your exhaust but if you do you need to remember that filters effect suction . so your exhaust is now weaker than you intake which isnt good for airflow and ordour control..
Im not sure if your tops are covered with any reflective product but it helps keep temps down and light out of the res's.
You can always use a frozen water bottle to lower res temps if they start rising..
The more air the better i say ...
I run /ran many diff homemade diy set ups ,i have a log were you can check.. i even did a ak48 in dwc a awhile back..

I hope any of this helps ..
take a peak in the Dwc club some usefull info in there to..

DWC and a 600 hps will give you explosive growth if done correctly. I would flower at around 6" tall, seriously. If you only have 5 feet of height, you'll lose 1.5 feet to the dwc tub and another foot for the grow light at the top. That leaves you with room for a 2.5 feet tall plant. better choose an indica dominate.

What size pump do you have? And what size are you planning on adding? I personally found that the blue 6" stones from petco/petsmart work much better than any length walmart stones like you have.

That was a lot of help, thank you. Ill def add some reflective thermal insulation to the lids. Ill keep that water bottle trick in mind too. I'll prob just use the 600w hps for the whole grow, I just have a decent cfl setup from previous grows that I figured I could throw in there for the hell of it.

Odor isnt too big of an issue so I'll only add a carbon filter if its gets out of hand.

I read the thing about vegging longer for taste here - http://www.nirvanashop.com/en/feminized-marijuana-seeds/820-ak48-feminized-5-seeds.html
It says "Although most marijuana growers will opt for a longer vegetative period to improve taste, under perfect conditions, Nirvana AK-48 may finish in as few as 48 days."

I've got 2 20-60 gallon, 2800cc pumps. One for each tub. I actually saw those round stones at petco, Ill go pick some up. 2 per tub should be good right?
