Dwc- 216w t5 / 400w hps bubba kush

This is my first hydro grow. Its a pretty small, relatively cheap set up. I'm going to scrog it later in veg. I got it up and running last night, heres a list of my gear:

Lights

Vegetation- 216 W Sunblaze T5 fluoro

Flowering- 400 W High Pressure Sodium

System
2 18 gallon rubbermaid containers
4 6 inch Net Buckets
1 Aquarium Air pump(dual)
4 Aquarium air stones
2 2.5 lb bags of hydroballs(expanded clay)

Grow Area
4' x 2' x 9'

This is my first hydro and it's a learning process so bear with me. Feel free to post some constructive criticism for my next grow or for tips.

Hey Oakie ... looking good ... how old are they? So I see that you have the tops of your rubbermaid totes covered with so reflective material? does that help? I didn't do mine like that ... Maybe i'll try it

The main purpose is to reflect heat away from my rez so that it doesnt get to hot, and to keep the light away from the roots when i put the HID light in. It probably adds a little reflection to undergrowth durring veg, which helps when using t5's because they dont have much penetration.

This is day three in system,

3 are doing well, have lots of new growth, 1 is slowly getting bigger, hopefully its ok

Here are some more pics of the system, the plants look droopy because we have had to mist the plants to keep the humidity up and temperature down.

Hey oakie, nice setup you got here!
stoked to see how it ends up because im about to be using a 400w hps
in a couple days now. what hps bulb do you have waitin in the wings?

Not entirely sure yet, I'm planning on vegging for awhile and seeing what kind of growth I get, then depending on heat and space I'm going to add the screen for scrog and figure out what hps/ reflector i can use.suggestions?

in terms of hps and reflectors i dont really know much, other than that hps is the way to flower. im using a 400w hps for one little space and it is more than enough, luckily i have good ventilation.
how tall are you planning to veg to? i keep hearing of people switching to flowering cycles when their baby is only 10 inches tall and that is absurd to me, considering im at about 22" right now, and just waiting for my hps bulb to come in
but ya man keep me updated and ill do the same

Im planin to scrog it, i have always gotten best results as far as quality and quantity with scrog or lst, last time i scrogd i flowerd with a mh just for fun ha. As far as when to flower, it depends on how much room you think you got left, plan for it do almost double in size

ya i think ive used as much space as possible because if it doubles ill be cuttin it close.
so until u said anything i never really matched the term scrog with the action but i looked it up and needless to say i want to do it really, really bad. it looks like it can help soooo much. is it too late for me? i JUST put in the hps bulb today but idk if my shoots are even enough in height.

Here are pics from day 5...I had heat, nute and airstone issues but i think ive got it under control now, I'll post more pictures tommorow. Next time I do hydro, I'm going to make sure I take more time to set things up properly. live and learn.
