Dude- i walked into that place maybe last year, and the only thing i could think the whole time was "man, this place sucks and is completely INFESTED with spider mites. How do i politely end this intereaction with the clerk asap, so i can gtfoh and go home and burn my clothes at the end of my driveway?"

The durban poison out here in colorado is pure sativa, it's a landrace from south africa it's not a hybrid.
Again, I find it confusing when you got Dutch Passion claiming to have an 8 week pure sativa. That just doesn't make sense.

Would love to know the origin of what's in stores out west, whether it be Ace/Cannabiogen or Seeds of Africa etc. Hazeman also has a Durban Poison. All of these stating 12+ weeks of flower which makes me more inclined towards them then the hybridized Sensi/Dutch Passion

I'm not sure who the breeder is, it's possible it's a cut from the original source or a seed.

They advertise the durb out here as a landrace sativa.

White Widow - Shantibaba and Greenhouse. Now instead grow Black Widow from Mr. Nice. Mr. Nice is Shantibaba.

Dutch Passion is usually quality. Advise checking Mr. Nice for strains.
Yeah I was lazy and just wanted a feminized version so kind of my own fault. Reviews on DP's fem WW sounded better than Greenhouse

Not saying its not possible but I find it hard to believe anyone could get a clipping all the way from Africa lol. I feel like whats out there probably came from seed stock, just wish it was known whose is legit

Greenhouse sucks since Shanti split. Again check Mr. Nice for REAL Widow and White Rhino (Medicine Man by Mr. Nice). He created the strains.

If you can veg them out big enough to take clones from again outside you can do what I do, mix whatever insecticide you are going to use. In a half gal tub.
and dip each clone before taking it back in away from the evil bugs.

Durban Poison has been around South Africa since my dad was a teenager. Here we identify it as a pure sativa with extremely long flowering times. I can't imagine any hybrid being a fair representation of the original, if that's a factor at all.
I think that Seeds of Africa's Durban Magic is the pure sativa strain. It takes 13+ weeks to finish. They don't call themselves breeders but preservationists saving genetics. They only sell regular seeds as well.

EVERY incoming clone gets a dip in a pyrethrin solution. The surface of the media and the cup or container it's in gets a spray also.
After the plant dries off. She gets a Green cure dip and spray for molds.

The one fucking time I was too excited and forgot (not long ago either),,BOOM, I got Russet mites...

Durban

Breeding with the Durban is done with hand selected phenos that have been passed or traded back and forth for awhile.

Yet, now and then. Someone does the whole thing over again to produce things like Cookies strains and happily, The strains that cookies has produced it's self...

Buying a pack of Durban beans, and getting that over 30% pheno out of what? 10 beans? Good fucking luck! The strain it's self is nice and has good potency.

More strains then you think, owe their potency to Durban somewhere in it's past.

Based in Singapore I believe. But important to note a different "breeder" name for those strains. They used to only have landrace strains from Africa. Their Malawi Gold rocks too.

L'Eagle in Denver should have Durban Poison clones. No idea if they're any good but I've seen them on the menu for a couple months now.

So if I'm not in a state where clones are readily available (nor have access to a rec dispensary where I can buy the finished product) and I'm looking for the real deal, I'm basically shit out of luck. Oh to live in a civilized state...

You can buy seeds online. Some are hybrids but there does appear to be a couple landrace strains available. Here in Portland you can find it at most dispensaries. How authentic it is is suspect. I'm pretty sure anything selling in the dispensaries is a hybrid. Pure sativa's just take too long. Time is money.

Durban Magic from Seeds of Africa appears to be pure sativa.

I only post this link because I've bought numerous times from sensible and have always gotten what I ordered. Other stores have it as well.
