I get it, he doesn’t. Weight of the pot is better than a finger test IMO.Just pot lift until I got used to it. My organic dry amendment plants get almost a gallon a day in 5 gallon fabric pots once they have decent roots and bio mass up top with no run off. I water them all every day as I don't use mulch and the top layer dries out too quickly. 3 gallon pots get about 90 ounces give or take daily depending on the stage they're in. Keeping them constantly moist keeps the little critters in the soil happy or so I'm told. I haven't seen any issues with over watering or root problems doing it this way for the 3 full runs I've made in organics but that doesn't mean it won't happen. It took me a bit to get used to keeping the soil so moist but it seems to work with this style. I do need to get some kind of mulch though.
