Well I’d hardly call 400 watts on 10 oz a fail for four plants.

What is your preferred system of measurement then? Cause I’m interested.
Grams per watt has been taken out of context over the years, it more refered to a short veg of 4 weeks from seed and two from clone.

Ant fool can veg two months and pull a gram a watt.

This can work as a sliding scale though, find those who use the same style lights and veg time and work out your grams per watt to theirs to see how your stacking up.

One of the first things leds jumped on was gpw, they emoloyed longer veg times to hit our shorter veg numbers, all hype but ya there you go - grams per watt :-)

Ive been trying to catch up to you guys from the start... Started with cfls, went to a blurple type light (which worked out for a minute), then bought a qb288... All of this in a month!!! I wish I would've seen this before. So many people on RIU saying that the HLG 100 wont flower cannabis properly. Seems like enough light to me. Proof is in the picture.

I have a qb 288 kit also... If the 100 had a dimmer to get a little more power out of it, it would really be awesome!!!
288's rock, but correct me if I'm wrong, but a dimmer is used only to reduce power? Is there a way to get over the drivers rating using one and would this be good if you could? I've been using MW A's so no dimming, I just underpower the led's for the efficiency I want and run with it.

Build your own light or buy a reputable one, Cheapos might get ya through a few grows but cheap chinesium shit always craps out, usually when you need it the most, I built my own 4 cob vero 29 light in late 2016 and am very impressed with the quality of produce it puts out, And would run head to head with any 600 hps or manufactured led of the same wattage 212 @ 100%

I did a build thread of that light if ya wanna see it....

Yup , And there are lots of reasons to have a dimmable led light, I'd be kicking myself in the ass if I didn't have mine dimmable, Mine runs from 700 ma to 1400 ma on 100%, Still plenty efficient , But the only time I crank it up is after about 2 or 3 weeks of 12/12 after they get used to the intensity being upped every few days, otherwise It's just gonna burn or bleach the plants....

From what I understand, there is an inverse relationship between the drivers and diodes, wherein the drivers peak efficiency running all out and the diodes peak running at a greatly reduced rate? I built a 16 strip 2ft eb with a mw 120 and it vegs moms no problem.

If I remember correctly, the efficiency difference from 100%-10% is less than 5% for the driver. How much do your Veros increase in efficacy at similar power changes?

TBH, I don't know and am operating off of what growmau5 has said about it.
