It's not the medium that makes cannabis grow well, it's the ability for the medium to hold and/or transfer food and water to the root ball, DUH ;).

id take a organic substrate just add water mix any day over any hydro or dwc system and if you make messes while transplanting man alittle advice do the transplanting over a container you know pretty simple

i get what your sayin bruh. I feel the medium should mimic natural soil but only better. Im just sayin all the articles ive read and from what ive seen "soil" (promix) wins every time. Just my thoughts. good luck wit that hydro tho

Promix is just pH balanced peat moss with wetting agents and mild fertilizers.

The only thing it is really good for is just starting your plants, it's more of a soil amendment than a full growing medium.

...promix can't compare to fox farm's ocean forest, IMO....:joint:

Im not saying promix is bad but since it is like 95% peat moss then when it starts to break down it can get very acidic.

I use Sunshine Mix (almost the exact same thing as promix but cheaper) then I mix it with my homemade compost, Garden Lime, perlite, and some worm castings for my soil.

aw well i consider my mix as a promix. 50% "promix" (70% peat 30% perl/verti) and 25% good base soil like fox farm or whatever and 25% sub's supper soil (with my own tweeks). So idk what to call it so i just call it a promix.

I guess since you said that all the articles you've read claimed soil to be superior, I thought you might have at least one of those on hand as a reference. The soil/hydro debate has been over for years. If you want to hash it out again, challenge me to a party cup grow. I'm growing my party cup plant with rockwool. You can use your secret soil mix. Link found below:

Yeah I agree hydro can outproduce soil easily the only possible disadvantage I see to hydro [and a lot of ppl dont do this anyways] is you want to put up a little extra hard earned cash on supplements (organic or synthetic) to stimulate more oil production (terpenes) and end up w/ the kind of taste you would get from the best soil grown organic. But who cares when you just yielded more top grade bud.
