yes soil is messy meaning transplanting the shit gets everywhere and what the hell you talking about cause everyone i talked to even on here says hydro is super clean compared to dirt and thats why im making the change

Put your seedling in the final pot from the get go if you have the room.. I've never had anything wrong happen because of that, and have grown a monster or two that way. If you're looking to get into hydro I suggest checking out hempy buckets..

Let me be the first to congratulate you to your move UP to hydro. And have a look at this..... https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/346967-my-first-grow.html
I liked those totes so much I built three, I'll probably just retire the 5 gallon dwc buckets.
I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure the totes with the spray on the roots functions much better than just a bucket with an airstone in it. I'm only on my second grow but both grows indicate the totes just work better, although the 5 gallon bubble buckets did do the trick they were a pain in the ass to change out water and adjust ph.

Why do you gotta be like that man? I think we are just trying to establish what your problem with soil is. I've been growing in soil, indoors for years now. I've done soilless as well and sure it can get a little messy but trust me man, the first time your rez springs a leak you tell me hydro isn't dirty. I've not had that many problems with soil being messy so I was a bit perplexed. Maybe I'm just a bit neater, I really don't know but I have a shop vac that I use to clean up my messes. Takes like 30 seconds for me to clean up after a transplant. Good luck with hydro but just remember, the grass ain't always greener. You may love hydro, you may hate it. Only one way to find out.

I have nothing against hydro other than the fact that soil tastes much much better......there is nothing like hitting something grown by an amateur hydro grower and tasting nothing in your mouth but chemicals.....and to be organic in hydro is very very expensive....the costs don't outweigh the rewards for me.....not to mention all the cleaning that's required....taking it all apart so nothing molds, worrying about flooding.....if you forget to feed one time, you'll have a tough time recovering your plants.....soil is wayyyy more forgiving and like i mentioned, at least in my experience, its very rare to find something grown in hydro that tastes like stuff grown organically in soil :) good luck with it man

I do both...dirt organic in summer and hydro chem in winter.....GIVE ME THAT DIRT WEED ANY DAY OF THE WEEK!.....I think when all is said and over and weed is legal and you can grow it just like a flower in the garden...HYDRO will be gone, who will need it?I do see some hydo growing food but that food taste like crap.

Take a bite of dirt then a hit of hydro. My shit doesn't taste like chemicals .

your looking at this all wrong, yea you gotta clean up a little dirt from time to time as opposed to worrying about ph twice a day water temps, wait till you spill a few grow chemicals and see whats easier to clean that or dirt. then theres over feeding which is easy to do and changes happen fast! you can totally burn your plants by getting lazy one or two days where with soil it buffers everything and when things go wrong which is much harder to do with hydro also you have to worry about humidity much more. So if your switching because of a little vacuum job every few weeks i wouldnt bother with hydro in any form your just gonna fuck things up.
But if you gotta.... aero is fastest but requires the most work ebb n flow is probably what you wanna go with the ph is easier to keep stable you dont need a super powerful pump which means your res wont heat up as fast. god really the more i think about my hyrdo days the more crap i remember and the happier i am with my super soil. I would really spend some quality time doing A LOT of research hydro aint cheap to do and its not for someone who is complaining about using a vacuum once a week, sorry not trying to be a dick its just the way it is bud.

That's what I'm trying to say. Each has it's specific advantages and disadvantages. Soil is MUCH more forgiving than hydro but hydro gives a greater degree of control, generally speaking of course.
