Dog can't get right

try to be more patient animals are smart but you have to work with them endlessly thats why getting a dog is such a big responsibility. he will eventually get it but you gotta be resistant, and reward him for when he is good, and crate omg crating is like a godsend with dogs

Eventually, they learn to love the crate. It's not to be used as punishment just an accident preventer.

He has had zeeero accidents since we started this. Seriously. He even earned the night out of his cage last night. I don't think patience was the issue here, I am pretty patient for a manly man. It was just improper training methods.

i could never tolerate-

my dog staring at me. TELL me what you want. all my dogs since i was 12 shake their heads yes and no. they definitely alert to use the potty.

im glad to hear you're having so much success. just as with many other things there are the not quite obvious tricks that make all the difference. i would suggest getting a book on dog training in general, or even joining a forum. the ten quick things you learn will enhance your relationship with your new "bunny hunter" many times.

I am usually a research heavily before I dive into something kind of guy, but I kind of got suckered into the dog thing and didn't really get a chance. I'll have to do some forum cruising, see what tricks I can find.

I crate and chain train all of my dogs at a young age. They hardly ever need it once they are older but if need be they will kennel up without complaints.

I travel and camp a lot. I also have usually owned large dogs. You can't take a 4 year old pit bull that has never been tied to anything and just start one day when you need. I would never own a dog that had to live on a chain, but things happen and when they do you have to do what you got to do. Teach them while they are young and while they may hate it they accept it as an option. Wait until they are an adult and that can wreck a dog and cause them to hurt themselves. I also learned the hard way. I used to give dogs there shots on my own. While me and my wife were traveling we needed some work and tried to kennel our dog. The kennel would not accept our shot receipts, they had to be from a vet. I would have been really nice to both be able to work. Same shots, they just have to insure everyone else's dogs too.

Take him outside very often . Always have treats with you . Take him out often, I know I said this but it is worth repeating. When he goes to the bathroom outside give hima few treats, verbal praise and pet him to let him know he did good. This must be done immediately after he goes. Do this often and he will eventually associate treats and being praised with going to the bathroom outside. Nthis is a time tested and proven tomworkmunlessnyour dog is retarded, funny but true, nothing sader then a retarded dag.

i had a beagle many years ago. i made him into a rabbit dog. he was an outdoor dog and hated the inside. no need to potty train an outdoor dog. it would be 10 below outside and 3 feet of snow and he would sleep on top of his doghouse.
