According to Mel, the 89 Northern Lights #5 descends from Nevil's NL#5 Bx8 project.
Nope im afraid we gotta Agree to disagree there mate i aint seen anything concrete to prove otherwise so as far as im concerned nevil created nl2 other than bs stories ive never even heard anyone try to dispute this except you u can go ahead and listen to the Nl crew if you want but they only change there story 3 or 4 times depending on who you ask so i know who id trust make up your own mind of courseAgain Nevil did not make NL#2 but received it.
NL#2 does have similar traits to what I would say is Thai but I've also found those same traits in pure Landrace Hindu Kush, so .
NL#2/R2 by D & 89NL by AKBB (which I believe is pure NL#2)

I don't know about the "Old Skool" NL but I grew one back in '18 and '19 that grew well and was damned compact. When I first tried it, I was not impressed, (poor cure). I had filled all my mason jars and had a bunch of larff that I stuffed in a plastic bag and then put in a five gal bucket and left it for a couple of years, while I tried out the jarred stuff.
Come this year I finally got to the bag and picked out some good sized buds. It was kinda dry soe I added some water to the bag, so it would burn slower and after it stabilized, it turned in to some very smooth mind stretch!
I'm going to fire up some of the old jarred stuff right now to see if the jarred is getting better after some re hydration too.
Pretty smooth now. Two hits before the cough came but it is lifting my mood!

Nl2 x kush4.. nevil then backcrosses the f1 (nl2 x nl2/kush4). Nevil then inbred this.
Nevil inbred NL#2 before he added Kush4, which is what Nevil sold as NL#2 F3. Nevil never got the chance to backcross NL#2/K4 to NL#2 because he got busted.
I like Rob and the Deep Ellum guys be they need to do better research before stating "facts".
