she tried the Buhner protocol,, he has a book all about tinchers and plants for healing lime,, the problem is finding quality tinchers,, the stuff I was getting from ebay or amazon, i really felt were watered down not good,,
we got one bottle of tincher from her lime doctor before she retired ( mysteriously I may ad),, and the doctor's tincher was thich dark, and it stained the eye dropper over time,, the stuff for ebay amazon is watery,, and did not stain the dropper
I think ( unless you have some ideas),, i was thinking of going to china town in portland oregon where i live and getting good plant matter,, the real deal,, and bringing it home and making brews,, or cooking it into things, or making my own tinchers,, so I know the quality and the level of meds
Wow, if you know how to do that, more power to you. I'd like to know how to make my own because the tinctures are expensive: $30 per tiny bottle which lasts about 2 weeks. so they're expensive. I also worry about people ripping me off by filling up the bottles with colored water. But so far they have worked, and I stick with one company only (Nutramedix).

man I didn't relize lyme was on west coast to,i thought it was a new England problem.iam very careful when in the bush, gotta use mirror for the hard to c places,as long as u getem off within 24 hours pretty safe:bigjoint:
Lyme is everywhere and a huge epidemic that is largely ignored by the medical profession. Some of the doctors are still arguing that it doesn't really exist, others are sayings it can be cured with 60 day supply of antibiotics and any patient who continues to have symptoms afterwards are just looking for attention, etc. etc. It's insane.

And now they are doing the same thing with Morgellon's Disease. Claiming it doesn't exist and saying that anyone who thinks they have it needs to be on anti-psychotics, and that we are creating the sores ourselves. Makes me so mad.

very well said,, plus, doctors get dragged before panels, they lose thier liscenses,, if they do help lime patients , some are shunned by thier peers, our last LLMD mysteriously retired, and its all out of pocket,, we have outstanding health insurance,, and yet they decline to cover lime, my wife got 30 days of doxy last year and that was it,, we learned very fast we had to leave the HMO and seek help on our own,,

There probably are some doctors who say patients just want attention, but remember that a diagnosis of a psychosomatic condition is not the same as saying someone is crazy or faking. It's possible to question the disease without questioning the symptoms. IOW a doctor could believe every symptom a patient reports yet still doubt it's from lyme. I'd rather have someone who looks at the situation with a critical eye than someone who eagerly agrees and then sells me the cure.

Unfortunately, because there is not much regulation with herbal supplements, substitutions, contamination, and outright fraud is rampant in small shops/ebay. There have been several studies done in the last few years where they buy herbs at shops and then test them and find that they are not the herb that was paid for. For example, you might buy ginseng pills but what's actually in them is parsley or basil or something much cheaper. In some cases they actually found pharmaceutical substitutes, like viagra.

Ticks are everywhere. They are just more prevalent over here, with the larger deer population.

simple as that,, we all know MJ can and does help with siezures, and it helps with cancer patients,,,
Does anyone know if MJ can help someone with lyme?
My fiancé has chronic Lymes. It's a horrible disease, and has all but disabled her. She smokes to help her deal with all the symptoms. I don't know if it does anything medically, but we do know it helps her mentally.

I really apperciate all your objective observations and insight, I am starting to feel my attempt at helping her with Ozone ( oxygen theropy) has been a waste of time and money,, but I knew going it that it would only cost X amount (fixed price) to try it at home,, but there are lots of people who want to try ozone for other conditions,, like it really does work for taking smells out of houses, or out of cars,, like cigarette smoke,, so someone will buy the set up if I put it up for sale,,
if we do try cannabis oil,, I have the stuff to make it,, plus they sale it legally here in Oregon, so that wont take much money to give it a short try,, even if it just helps manage symptoms,,,
lime sucks

My mother struggled with shingles for nearly a year, which is much longer than the average person has to deal with it. Even worse, rather than getting the typical rash on one side of her trunk, the virus attacked the nerves in her knee joint causing near constant pain. So, I've personally seen someone desperate for relief, doing everything the doctors say to do, and still not getting better. Luckily it went away, either because of a combo of therapies, or just because it ran its course, it's impossible to tell. Of course, she started drinking acai berry juice right around the time it went away, so she swears that's what did it.

So while I distrust alternative medicine and the people who push it, I very much sympathize with those who seek it. It's usually done out of desperation and frustration, which is completely understandable, yet it's also a perfect mindset for quacks to take advantage of. While I think that, ultimately, the patient has the right to choose whichever treatments they want, I also think the patient has the right to informed consent. It's impossible to make good decisions if you are given bad information.

Just remember that biology is complicated, medicine is complicated, and you should be weary of those who try to tell you it's simple, or have a simple cure. The idea that super-oxygenating the blood will kill anaerobic bacteria sounds plausible, but it's too simple to hold up when put to the test of reality. Same with colloidal silver. It sounds plausible, but when we test it in randomized double-blind placebo-controlled clinical trials, which is the most honest, careful and thorough test we can do, it doesn't work.

So, in the interest of informing yourself, you may want to learn why researchers doubt the existence of chronic lyme. You don't have to agree with them, but you might find that their doubt is less to do with cynicism or incompetence and more to do with an evidence-based assessment of the research. I think the scientific position is much more nuanced than most people who argue against it realize.

In any case, and I hope this doesn't sound trite, but remember that some of the best ways to support a healthy immune system are free. A proper diet, regular sleep schedule, exercise and stress-reduction go a long long way to making things better. And any treatment you try, whether it's alternative or mainstream, isn't going to get a fair shake if those things aren't also being payed attention.

informative web page, I read the whole thing top to bottom, the writter clearly takes the CDC side of things,, I would have to agree with the blind study,, and the placebo group fairing now better than the antiboitic group,, why?,, because months of antibiotics did not make my wife any better,, so the placebo group would have matched her results,,,, , after 6 months of bicilin intermuscular injections ( powerful shit man),, and this was after a month of doxy Kaiser prescribed, the bicilian we got a script from an LLMD and the meds were from costco,, so good stuff, expensive to at 800 permonth
BUT<< why is there always a but,,
but she tested positive for lime sprocetes after all those months of bicilin, thru ignex,,
Kaiser said early on she was negative thru "thier lab",, and get this,, the doctor at kaiser told us before drawing blood that he did not like this test,, he said kaiser gets up to 50 perecent false negatives and the doctor felt the test was unreliable,, but then it came back negative Kaiser was done with it,,
now,, after 1 year 3 months of living with this hell,,,, she still has bells palsy in her face,, half her jaw is completly numb,, and she has heart palpattions,, so bad that you can feel them in her pulse some nights, then the night sweats where she has to change clothes she is so wet,, now those are some of her solid symtoms,, never mind the so called syndromes,, such as the fatigue,,
Kaiser did not like it when i lead with the solid symtoms because they had to address those,, they could not brush those ones off,,

Edit,, i guess it should be pointed out, that the web page you sent its whole premise was thinking that the current antibiotics are all that is needed to "CURE" lime, when in reality I really feel the big HMOs and medical community really doesnt know how to heal so called chronic lyme, but why not just come out and say , sorry there is no cure,, instead of the current methods, i have seen other stuides showing the same thing,, that long term antibiotics doesnt help many people with chronic,, hence here i am talking with all you good folks

Tim Fox - it's lyme, not lime. It's everywhere in New England and the diagnosis and treatment is very controversial. Drs want to see the rash and know you're in an area where there's an abundance of deer ticks testing positive for the bacteria (southern maine) before they treat you. The tricky part comes when you test negative on their tests (which aren't very sensitive as they are based on antibodies). Some will look for the tick dna using sensitive molecular techniques like PCR, but insurances aren't paying for those tests. If you do find a lab that finally tests you as "positive", I would ask them about their techniques and confirm it's legit...there are bad labs out there that can report lots of false positives. False positive can lead to unnecessary treatments of toxic antibiotics that wreak havoc on your health.
I think there are non-lyme agents in the tick that are making people sick. A tick is a cesspool of disease, feeding on many contaminated rodents. Science only understands a few of these vector-borne diseases: lyme, anaplasma, powassin...
I think there are undiscovered agents (prions and viral particles) in these ticks making people sick. When they go to the dr for testing, there aren't even tests for these undiscovered agents so you come back as lyme negative so youre pissed because youre so sick and no one is helping. OK, I'll stop my rant. I also think that weed helps with pain, there is no evidence that it can rid the body of the borrelia spirochette.

Glad you checked in,, ,
its Lyme,, until I smoke about 3 bowls,, then the whole letters thing gets screwy for me,, hahaha
oh co- infections, such a mess,
I am glad you shared , we are paying for out of pocket lab tests at a local hospital, we are using the same tests the doctor asked for, just making sure the antibitoics are not hurting her,,,
one nice thing about this go round is we are pulsing the 2 differant drugs on 2 weeks off 2 weeks, and this is giving her body a short rest inbetween runs, it also allows her gut to build up some flora,, it also seems to match the lyme sprockets life cycle/ reproductive cycle,, she has been having strong Herx reactions every time she pulses back on the flagyl, so I hope this one is matched well to the bug

Tim - IGeneX is a bogus lab, please research them thoroughly and understand their testing techniques and history. Don't pump antibiotics into your wife based on their test result. Please follow up with more credible lab testing facilities. These guys are bogus...seriously! I'm on the east coast and this is the only facility I would ask you to avoid, after much research. There are thousands of diagnostic facilities in your area, go to any of them except this one. OK, done with that rant too.
