So I wasn't sure where to create this thread and I didn't want to post somewhere out of pocket. I wait tables for a living at a chain restaurant and everyday I feel like it steals a little more of my soul. I've been looking at new work places like at Lowes but right now I'm just waiting and waiting on callback from these other places. If anybody wants to talk about the service industry or share some horror stories I'd love to listen and converse. Blow off some steam here and get some sympathy and feedback from others who have to deal with this crap everyday. Even if you no longer work in the service industry feel free to post any old/funny/demoralizing stories. And yes, feel welcome to share what you're toking while talking :)
 
I used to serve drinks and food at this shitty pub in my hometown. Did it for about a year. Free drinks was cool, but the pay was shit. Most drunks don't like to tip, which I can understand - we never made much extra scratch, but I will never understand why people insist on fucking with someone who is going to be handling your food. Like, dude, you are here to get fucked up, not to critically review your 1am order of gravy fries. Too many complaints. I can't remember how many plates I rubbed my dick on and drinks I spit in, but there was a lot. A lot.

I will never work in service industry again.

Love your avi and screen name. You should consider growing weed for a living, jobs fucking suck. You're at the right site ;)
 
All the guys in the kitchen were Sri Lankan (I'm not) but most of the front was cool. There were these three servers in their early 20's and they used to see who could drink the most disgusting thing. Soooo funny. Management sucked and head office was a nightmare. I had some prick in from head office send half my line home in the middle of friday night rush because my labor for the day was high.

LMBO. I like your style. Yeah, at least in the states, people go out to a middle class restaurant and act like they're a Rockafeller. Ever notice how the people with plenty of money are the least aggressive, least worried people of the bunch? Better tippers as well.

Once, for $5 USD, a server drank a bottle of the mango syrup that goes in the mango tea. He had to go eject it from his stomach and he was in the restroom stall for at least ten minutes, hacking up that vile stuff. One of the funnier things I ever saw in my 10 years of serving. He actually shat himself while he was hurling :D

I work at a fine dining place, sometimes it can be a pain.
Working to become a sommelier though.

I love eating and drinking wine at work!

I don't love getting a 6 table section, taking a 4 course order per person plus drinks during a rush. It can get to ya but I love the pay out.

I'm luck my place is at a hotel. Couldn't imagine doing a chain

Yeah if I'm gonna keep waiting tables it's gonna have to be fine dining. Can't keep this up. But once my girls are ready for harvest I'm gonna be in a much happier place because I know my bills will be okay.

Thank you, Tyler. I studied about this stuff for over a year until I found a good rental house for the right price so I could grow. With some education, common sense and online resources (as well as a $1,000 initial investment for the steup) its been a piece of cake, really. And that's Nirvana's gear I'm growing, believe it or not. The up close bud shots are wonder woman and the zoomed out shot is northern lights. Got to get another grow under my bel (i have 5 more nirvana seeds) and then I'm going to upgrade to Sannie, Bodhi, Soma or Mr Nice. Not sure what I'm gonna do yet, but I am loving this. Of all the forums that I used to look through, when it came time to grow RIU was the place I made my home. growweedeasy.com and RIU were the two biggest resources as I learned how to do this. With the exception of a few mistakes made early on, it has been pretty seamless thus far. Do you have a preferred breeder? And yeah, a pound indeed ;)
