Does anybody tie down there cannabis plants?

Iv done around 4 but have just let me grow naturally i didnt do anything to them and just left them to grow but im trying to find new ways and want to try and get some like yours thats what im aiming for anyway

it's hard to tell from your pics if you cut it in the right spot. the last pic looks right though. you cut the newest forming node.

weight depends on a lot of different factors including experience, strain, plant size, environment, etc...if you aren't sure where to top a plant then i'm guessing you are pretty new to the game. don't get caught up in the numbers. try and grow healthy plants all the way through harvest. the weight will come. i've been doing this a long time so i always try and get 1 gram per watt of light used. those plants in the pic were 5-6 ounce plants for some and 6-7 for others.

Is this how i should the plant down the first time?

yea, that works. then when the side branches get bigger you flip it around and pull it to the other side to let those branches get bigger.

you see this question a lot on these forums. it all depends on the size of the plant you are growing and the strain. it could be 2 or it could be 50. just depends on how big the strain gets and how long you veg them. topping and tying them down only makes them wider so you will have room for less plants. i give my plants about 18" squared for each one. then i figure out how many will fit under the light footprint.

True that. I started out with 4 plants in a SCROG but ended up going down to 2 due to the widened main colas. The lower branches eventually become new colas increasing yields....I like to setup a very loose SCROG net out of nylon clothesline & tie them to it.... After awhile they get trained & will need to be tied down elsewhere and/or adjust the lights to even out the canopy. I use bread or wire ties & constantly adjust them to improve light penetration to the lower bud sites.

How many tops should i aim for before switching to flower? And would putting netting up help to spread to branches apart or should i leave them?

Yes yes yes use netting or nylon rope or hemp twine and spread out the colas like a mfing octopus or something ...& then let all those branches become main colas... Soon you'll be wishing for upgraded lights or adding side lighting to penetrate through all those bud sites

Nice just had a look threw how did you get that many arms just keep tieng down all the new arms?
Top em once, then top the larger ones again after they grow out a bit, and just start tying them down. A couple times/week whenever I water I do the training. Takes about a month for me to get each plant about 20" wide like I need them. The growing tips (arms I guess) will just arise naturally as you train the plant out horizontally.

Ok so will the plant be healthy still if you top other arms aswell as the top one? And do you keep them tied down threw the rest of the plants life or un-tie them and tie over arms?

First you need to read up on topping. There are a thousand articles on this forum and others. Look for articles that talk about "Apical Dominance" and "axillary buds" because that's what ya gotta get your head around here.

Read the stickies in this forum catagory, they will answer your questions: https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/

Not sure if I understand the last part of your question. You can adjust and tweak your tie-downs as long as you want. The last 4 weeks or so of flowering you can take them off if you want, the branches are hardened off and will more or less maintain the shape you have trained them to.

Ok thankyou for your help, appreciated

I've been trying my first real grow the last little while as well. I have limited lights available and have been using the lst method on 3 OG Kush n Cheese seedlings under 220 watts cfl (13 lights in total).
The pictures below are one of my 3 - from seed they are 10 weeks old and 6 weeks of flowering so far. Since I'm a noob, my first results aren't that great, but the lst and fimming method is a nice one I plan to keep using.

Good luck on your grow.

Hello I generally peg them down with 8gauge wire shaped into what looks like tent pegs I generally lay the pot over for about a week so all the tips are facing up of course u stand the pot up to water it then generally when I plant it in my hole it is easier to train it along the ground that way and I keep topping it until it starts to flower but just pegging it down the plant always sorts its own way out I always do it that way more stealthy bigger yields also can do a similar thing in pots just be careful not to snap stems and don't tie string around the branch it will suffocate ur plant eventually
