Do you wash your jars before you cure?

I was wondering how long the seal lasts.
I mark my jars with sharpies.
When it comes time to re-use the lids I clean off the old mark
with iso alcohol and run some clean iso around the rim.

The seal is intended to get hot and seal.
Not repeated opening and closing of the jars.

I have jars that were a perfect 60% humidity then a month later see the humidity rise
without ever opening the jars.
There has to be a leak.

Those jars get cleaned out when I want to scape the dust (trichs) out the bottom. Then I have a joint...decide to clean them later and this results in 'manana' !
