Do you think 28% THC is for real, as Israel claims to have with one of their strains?

The issue with test, is all labs test different. There is no base line to make all the labs run at the same calibrated #. ( there is a lab in MI that was getting the same #'s from strain test as with alcohol. So you know something was NOT right. Until there is some main stream calibration I would use 2-3 different labs and then take a average of their #'s and go with that.

It doesn't look like it would be 28% thc, but looks can be deceiving i suppose.. i think i would like to see test results or make some myself bongsmilie!! seeing/smoking is believing :)
With due respect, not only can your eye not detect the difference between a 25% and a 28% THC strain, I doubt your lungs/brain can either.

One will take you 2 puffs to knock you on your ass, the other will take you "only" 1.8 puffs to knock you on your ass. "Highest THC" is a nice bragging point, but in my opinion these are functionally equivalent.

weird that the writing in your picture is Arabic and not Hebrew....... but............ it's on the enterwebs it musts be true................. It's a scam.
As already mentioned, its Hebrew.

And its ironic that you're pointing to the "interwebs" as a source of disinformation, when its YOU who's the one polluting it with nonsense.

As you know, there are a lot of issues with lab testing.

Even if a lab is internally consistent, they don't all report the same way. IE, some report THC on dessicated samples, some don't. The only way to really compare samples fairly is to not only run them in the same lab, but run them in the same RUN/batch in the same lab.

On the validity of the results, I have seen at least a few other lab reports from mainstream American labs on individual samples testing at 28% total cannabinoids. Cuts that potent are unusual, but they're not unheard of. In this particular case, my question isn't whether or not a given sample of this line tested at 28% THC. Its how consistent is the line? Do **ALL** the plants test that high or is it only one particular pheno?

I don't think its impossible to create a line that consistently puts out 28% THC, if you are specifically using lab testing as a basis to do your breeding selection. That's not practical for most (illegal) breeders, but I think its quite possible for a breeder in a university or commercial research setting.

As another issue, bluntly, 28% THC is nice, but IMO by itself that's not a good reason to pick a strain. For one thing, if you're just after pure potency, its relatively easy to make ANY strain into a 28% THC strain by running it through the bubble bags.

More important, there are a number of other important factors to consider when choosing. We know the THC content is high, but what about the rest of the cannabinoid profile? What's the yield? Not always, but often the highest potency strains also offer low yields. What's the flowering time? How does it smell/taste? Is the line hermie-prone? Does it have other drawbacks like mold susceptibility, pest susceptibility, etc.

I'll pick the 20% strain with nice yield, flavor, and easy growability any day, over a hemp-tasting, hermie-prone, mold-prone low yielding 28 percenter.

HAHAHAHAHA some really amusing stuff said on this thread :) Thanks to Mrs Rare Dankness and Mr Ganja for actually giving propa scientifically grounded answers. The rest of the okes were damn funny really, people on here love a good argument don't they HAW HAW HAW...

Anyhow, whether it truly is 28 percent THC or not, I think to me Mr Ganja makes the most valid point, did ALL samples test that high? Is it CONSISTENT? Freak clones are actually becoming pretty common, seems reefer is starting to mutate before our very eyes. I mean Cheese came out of nowhere wasn't bred just a freak clone.

My question is whether high THC content equals enjoyment of the reefer... I'll be quite frank and say anything THAT strong won't come near my show. I don't want to fall over after 3 puffs, I want to enjoy a whole joint!

I think about it like this... Hash/oil/etc is really high THC content. I dont care for it at all. So if I want to smoke extremely high THC, ill go with hash. The other cannibanoids make MJ what it is.

Hey, Kush, I posted this article several months ago here,on RIU...Thought this might be an appropriate thread to leave it again...

That is an interesting article. A few years ago I felt like that was something missing also. I started thinking, what if my 60 year old mother was prescribed MJ? What if she went into a dispensary? The OG type, super strong smelling, overpowering type of MJ would chase her right out of there if she did decide to go. Since then I have been working on a "friendly" strain targeting people who will be skeptical or apprehensive about medical mj. Focusing on colors, smells, and a sedative buzz type that doesn't severly couch lock them or have them racing.

The writing is def. hebrew and it does say "Arin Almoog". I think it is for real, the Yids have no reason to scam anyone.

Hey althor, You may have seen posts I have made with regard to two seniors I grow for. One, a woman, late sixties on chemo and a gentleman late seventies in palliative care both medicate with Juanita la Lagrimosa for mental clarity...High CBD strain...They tried indicas...I kinda like the buz too for daytime...FWIW

May I ask. . .

If you're in Israel, where/how do you get these?

Thank you.

When did Israel break the ranks of the us in the weed dept. Sounds like bs
Israel actually has a State-run medical cannabis program that would put anything in the US to shame.

Also, historically Israel has always been a leader in cannabis research.

In fact the THC molecule was first described and synthesized in the 1960s by two Israelis, Prof. Raphael Mechoulam (who is still active at age 82) and his colleague Yechiel Gaoni.

They can do strain and type research there in ways that can't be done in the USA, and I don't at all think its implausible that they could selectively breed super potent strains.

In addition to this high THC strain (which may or may actually be the worlds' strongest), they also have one of the highest pure CBD strains in the world, called "Avideckel".

I should also mention that there is quite a bit of private cannabis research being done in Europe by the maker of the Sativex drug. They have all sorts of special proprietary strains, including ones specifically bred to be high in a variety of individual cannabinoids (ie THC, CBD, CBG, THCV), as well as ones specifically bred to be high in every individual terpenoid (limonene, pinene, myrcene, etc). None of these have been released to the public, and I think all are under patent. It wouldn't at all surprise me if they have more than one "super strain" that they are keeping under wraps.

Although I don't agree with everything in that article (ie it takes a LOT longer than 5-12 months to come up with a truly new strain, and I have yet to see ANY strain that would couchlock someone after just 1-2 hits), I like the general point that stuff out there is really strong now, and if you're accustomed to weaker weed, its pretty easy to overdose.

Its not just the indicas either. IMO overdosing on a sativa is possibly even more unpleasant, because these can cause bad paranoia, vertigo, and heart racing. Having overdosed on both, I think I'd rather have "couchlock" than sativa-induced paranoia.

Also, there already ARE plenty of lower potency strains out there to pick from if you want to grow them yourself. Its just that the market is still working in black market mode, and that favors really high potency stuff.

I think the easiest answer here is just to moderate your consumption. Especially when trying new strains, start small. Take one or two hits then wait 15 minutes to gauge the potency before smoking a whole joint or bowl.

Avoid bongs and big pipes to "guzzle" the weed; instead stick with joints or smaller bowled pipes to "sip" it. Roll smaller joints with decent sized "crutches", instead of big spliffs without. Also, when smoking, take small hits, and exhale them after only a few seconds, not huge lung busting tokes that you hold for 6-7 seconds.

Do these things, and you'll be fine.

If you just must have the experience of smoking and/or passing a whole joint, you can always cut the weed with tobacco (as they do in Europe) or even some other non-psychoactive herb.

If you need 28 % THC maybe its time for you to move over to Acid or Angle dust. lmfao
People always talking about higher THC *funny shit to me* I've had to stop selling a few strains guys tell me it's to strong AKA Zombie Weed.
Had some violator kush one of my friends that smokes A LOT told me he smoked a blow and did not remember going to bed, the next day he stopped by and said he was still fucked up. Dude said the violator kush violated him.
unless you got bad cancer or a really fucked up life I can not see a need or want for anything over 20 % THC I myself like the higher CBD strains the best.
