How?I've read the bible, and I know what Jesus was portrayed as, and what he wasn't.And I know that he doesn't personally come down and teach people shit, because he's a MYTH.He is a work of fiction. And if someone says they see him, and speak to him, and he speaks back, on a regular basis, they are either:1.Tripping or 2.Crazier than a shithouse rat.
How do you know His teachings?

That's it.He doesn't.But pillarize says he was taught by the Christ.I called bullshit. The Bible is a 2000 year old Dianetics.Folks laugh at the Scientologists, but they're doing the same thing with the bible.

We, that is so fucking obviously edited, I question the sanity of anyone who would believe it.The face on mars was just a trick of light, and we as humans, our brains are wired to try to make images into familiar objects.

.
Believe what you want. Prove to Me that its edited.

BULLSHIT. You're another religious nut with an overinflated ego.If you were taught "by the Christ",the first thing you'd have learned was humility, and you have none of that.Get over yourself.

There certainly is evidence that English isn't your first language
Don't mind stoney, she thinks she knows it all. :roll:And shes very rude when someone has an alternative opinion.

It seems like the athiests are usually mean. Maybe its because they don't have God in their lives?

Jesus died for your sins too stoney. Jesus loves you.

Of course Jesus was/is real.

Some people would like to believe He is a myth because they are athiests, thats what they do.

That pic is an obvious photoshop.Prove that it's not, We. I never said I knew it all, but I know when someone is pissing on my boots and telling me it's a rainstorm.Jesus didn't exist, he didn't die for me.So don't try to rub your false god all over me.As for me "being mean", it's pretty obvious that religious sheeple don't listen to reason. So after being nice countless times, it becomes apparent that doesn't work with you types.Because you won't seek the real truth, just little bits of false information to prop up your own sagging theories.Religion is dying.Good.:bigjoint:

Would you care for me to show you the fallacies? I can if you wish to face it.

I'll give you a hint and it concerns Paul of tarsus.

Well this is the area which church fathers LOATHE to talk about. Since I am not affiliated with any superstitions, I'll give it a go.

According to the "modern" interpretation of ONE account of jesus' life...he died around 33 C.E. (common era). There are two other accounts in the Bible however with one saying jesus died a century before that and one where herod kills Jesus putting his death at around 2 B.C.E.

Regardless, EVERYONE forgot about the man Jesus according to the Bible itself. Mark wrote the first Gospel at LEAST after 70 C.E., probably later. This leaves quite a gap for something which was supposedly monumental...

Enter into the gap Paul of tarsus (Saul) whose writings are some 80000 words and are the origin of all gospels to follow. There is a HUGE problem however with all of those writings by Paul.....

he never heard of jesus.
he never heard about a virgin birth
he never heard about the 'slaughter of the innocents (herod killing the babies)
he never heard about a nativity
he never heard about Mary, Joseph, John the baptist
he never heard about what went on in jerusalem

Paul knew only three things... Christ dies on the cross, is resurrected, and ascends into a heaven.

oh, so he did know something? NO, Paul places all of these events not on EARTH, but in a mythical realm, which was the style of the day. Almost everone who was not a scribe wrote in allegories, not descriptive history. Paul and the following ANONYMOUS authors of the gospels were no exception. They never thought they were writing history, only the church does. This was the only way to get pagans to believe since they had heard all of this stuff before with Osiris, Dionysis, Mithra etc. They no longer believed in them either so they were not impressed with another myth. Especially one which was completely unoriginal. So the church had to make jesus REAL.... all the rest of the myths are untrue, BUT this one is REAL. No surprise that the church had to slaughter many thousands along the way who questioned it.

Paul was the link to the gospels and he never heard the story of Christ? Either Paul was completely delusional, thereby rending his writings as gibberish and consequently any gospels derived form him. OR, the Bible is simpy wrong wrong wrong.

Either way is a disaster for the church...one of the very reasons why they don't talk to the sheep about it.

Very good post, cracker.I have also read about the discrepancies in the timeline. And one HUGE thing for me has always been that there is no historical record of Pontius Pilate ordering Jesus be killed. And they kept meticulous records.Jesus was NEVER mentioned. Do you know that Christ is just a generic term meaning "one who is anointed?"It doesn't mean, son of god, or messiah.I read one link that said Krissos, the greek version of christ, means, "drugged and whitewashed"...lot of links out there, and it's hard to find any that haven't been twisted to fit religious doctrine.

CrackerJax you hit that one right on the head :bigjoint:

another funny story is the one about the mormons......many many holes explained by "god did it" I find that all very amusing
My signature is part of a conversation I had with a mormon speaker back in college in a religion class.
needless to say that completely turned me off of religion all together

yes, but it's not difficult...one need only read the Bible to discover the charade.

Another crazy notion is that the Jewish high Council would convene on passover eve to judge jesus... They would NEVER have done that...NEVER!! it would be blasphemy for them....I can't see the high council committing blasphemy for anyone... it's ludicrous.

Pilate releasing Barrabas is another WHOPPER. Known killer of Romans did not EVER get a get out of death free card. Simply unbelievable!!!

OMG, don't get me started on the Mormons, but it makes AS MUCH SENSE as the Bible so it cannot be dismissed without dismissing Christianity itself... Ding we have a winner...

I guess I see the bible in the same way I see the Illiad and the Odyssey. They are just stories. Somethings may have happened but they were exaggerated in the bible and the book of mormon. Most of it is just story telling and corrupt power in the churches.

I wish there weren't so many die hard believers then maybe the church would go away. The world would be a better place with out all the lies and notions of going to heaven and hell

YES! And if we disagree, we're "being mean"...but the truth is, forcing guilt onto someone for something that never happened, teaching children fear and self doubt...that is far "meaner" than anything the non believers have said.

All Religion is is a system of control in my mind, a way to make us tuck ourselves tightly into bed at night and wipe our ass (even though technically taking a dump is a sin) and be good little people so that we may benefit at the end :leaf:
