People are going to tell you to wrap fan in sound damping. Careful with that, if sound canr get out then heat cant either. Can be dangerous.

I would try silencer and maybe some sound damping material on walls around it.

I second this. You really shouldn’t need an 8” running full bore for a 4x8 tent. Running it at 60-70% will greatly reduce noise.
Love the name, I am a huge Fallout fan. Well, the older games up to #4, the newer ones they didn't put any effort into. Fallout Tactics is my favorite but I haven't got to play it in a while.

If you have it set too low it will produce a loud humming sound. I have to keep my controller in the middle of medium or higher or else it produces a humming sound and struggles to get up to RPM when it cycles on.

Thanks man! Glad to see another gamer around these parts! Thought it was fitting to kind of reference towards cannabis colas too, I always spell it with a K though even though I know it’s incorrect lol.

Is it a turbine fan or an aluminum duct fan?

Moving air will always cause sound and vibration, I don't think you will be able to fully silence it. It will all involve slowing air flow, so you might be better with a 6 inch fan.

This is what I bought for a 4x4 tent

How close are you neighbors? Do they have an issue with pot or you? Is pot illegal in your area?

Any right bends you have in your ducting will dramatically reduce air flow and probably contributes to the sound.

Your best bet for stealth would be a smaller fan, a 6 inch. Your tent is going to hum either way though.
