DIY with Quantum Boards

oh dang I thought those little holes were to run the wire through lol. It fit! How do you mount the driver to the heatsink? I couldnt find any holes that would match up with the heat sink and the driver?

Ok so got my kits today and am new to diy leds got mostly everything figured out but one question with wiring the driver to the power cord I know that brown goes to black and the blue goes to white and green to green. But wiring the wires inside the connection I need a little more reassurance. Feel dumb for asking but don't want to fry myself lol.does black and brown wire go to the black holes , white and blue go to silver holes and green wires go to copper holes. Sorry for the bad wording.

My 260w kit came in today and I am excited to put it together. A couple questions just to make sure I am not making any mistakes when I do wire it up.

So the 260w kit is meant to be wired in series to reach the maximum watts if I am reading the HLG website correctly?
Can I move the driver outside of my tent to help maintain temps?
If I can move it outside the tent, what gauge wire should I use?
Can I add a fuse so that way if it for some reason there is some issue it will blow the fuse and not the boards?
I see that my driver is dimmable, is it just the little screw under the rubber plug on the top of the driver? Can I add a different one to make it a little easier to access?

This is my first DIY with really anything ha ha. I just want to make sure I have got this right. I'll be more than happy to post pictures/wiring diagrams/whatever else after I have it put together.

Thanks again in advance.

2. Yes
3. Wire size is based on how much current and length of run.
4. Yes
5. Yes. To have a remote dimming option, a "B" version Meanwell is recommended.

Pulled the GSG from the quantums to look at the " frost " ....
Not bad so far .....

Week 3 begins on sunday. Watered with some kelp (6.5)
Dialed power to around 202 watts ... And will bump that around week 5 .

Hey guys, well id like to contribute something to this fine thread, since things had gotten derailed so easily not long ago.

DISCLAIMER: I'm a new grower, not even a year under my belt yet but i'm approaching my third harvest. Still lots to learn, and my grow definitely has issues due to my lack of knowledge.

On thing for sure is, now I know I got good lighting!! Now for some quantum grown bud.:weed:

Sorry for pic quality. Here are a couple mango clones, a bag seed strain I've been running since the beginning. I had a better pheno with tighter buds and many more trichs, but I couldn't get the cutting to root. Its week 7 for these two, 2 more weeks and they come down. Just got watered so they are a lil droopy.P1020078.JPG P1020079.JPG P1020081.JPG
These clones were taken from a flowering plant and flowered immediately after rooting as an experiment, plus I was endanger of running out of bud. Structure is a lil topsy turvy, they both are producing very well. Nice thick buds are they way to the bottom and still fattening!!!

I'm pretty sure the colour of the connectors is irrelevant.
As long as the wires match and are making a proper connection, you will be fine.

You can't see the connectors vey well, but see attached picture of how mine are wired.

Have my boards, driver and heat sinks in hand! I'll make a few stops later today and grab some hardware to put it all together, I'll have 4x QB 288's covering a 3'x3' tent with a mean well driver, I'll run it around 270w I think. I'll build a frame and mount them like so to help get the best coverage:
________
| ---- ||| |
| ||| ---- |
|_______ |

I am also going to remote mount the driver to get that heat out of the tent. With any luck I can avoid needing an ac or atleast will only need to run one periodically.

Edit: my little text diagram isnt working, apparently it thinks I'm trying to make inapropriate pictures, LED porn, go figure.

Take a look at Zorin Linux. Its aimed at people new to linux coming from windows. You can make the interface look like window XP or Windows 7. works well I used it for over a year. I'm running Linux Mint another good distribution, but not quite as easy as Zorin.

A company called Caldera bought the rights to one of the early version of Unix. They then spend 10's of millions of dollars suing linux companies for patent infringement. Novell finally counter-sued them. Seems Novell actually owned the patents lol, AND they discredited that Linux had copied anything. Caldera went bankrupt trying to sue for profit...... makes you just love patents doesn't it....

I know who Linus is. My mistake. I did not know he wrote it from scratch. I am looking at installing some distro of LINUX because I hate Windoze 10.
