DIY with Quantum Boards

I've run 10 with no big effort. The valves give no trouble, I only clean them at the end of the grow. I make a spare harness of tubing. When I run coco and use nutes, I swap the the harness, takes 2 minutes. I use a 30ml syringe to clean and flush the used lines and reassemble the harness, a 5 minute job. I never have a plugged line that way. This being just water, I won't do anything till the grow is done. Now what's hard about that!
And I use no power to run it. No pumps, its gravity fed. This is almost as simple as a pure wick system, and KISS is my grow principal!

Well in all fairness I compared it with flood and drain.

If you want to compare it to say digging a 10' trench, then ofcourse it would seem like it's hardly any work. It's a matter of perception.

And from the explanation you give it will take 7 minutes to clean each unit. And on top if I understand correct, you are only using water?. How long would it take to clean out each unit if you use liquid nutrients? Many factors that change ones perception of what work is or isn't.

I apologise if I made it seem like the aquavalve is bad. That was not my intention! Im sure it is awesome in action :)

I don't clean them on water, except between grows. I clean ALL my equipment before each grow. and 7 minutes for the whole setup. When doing end of growing cleaning, taking each vale apart is unnecessary, I scrub them inside with a bottle brush. doesn't take long. Go to their site, they got pics of hundreds of auto pots running in a greenhouse

When running nutes, I only flush the lines, That is mostly prepping the hose harness for the next monthly swap. So I spend 5-7 minutes a month on maintenance. How often do you have to unclog your driplines? I run dripline in my greenhouse, no different than drip rings, I know what maintenance they require.

One more question, as heatsinks are as hard to obtain as the boards, what would be the best alternative to slate heatsinks for the qb?

HLG has heatsinks, and in my experience there seems to be no problem with the stock of these. Depending on where you are there might be another alternatives (Heatsink USA, Kingbrite from China, Poweralia for the folks in Europe, etc.), but shipping of heatsinks is usually expensive so if you can grab everything at the same time it would probalby be the best (unless you are buying in bulk or something, in which case it might even make sense to order from China). Or try with the QB120, which does not need a heatsink.

I'm here to give you an update on my delivery....IT ARRIVED TODAY! F*** YEAH!

Shipped on monday, arrived today on friday with no issues through DHL.

I haven't got the chance to install it but the packaging was awesome and nothing seems to be broken/smashed. Really good packaging that was able to withstand a whole continent trip.
Thanks to @robincnn and everyone who helped with the delivery. I will be posting pics once I get it running. :)

Damn homie, whats it like growing down there? Like legality wise, what happens if you get caught?

Well down here it's still illegal to grow. The government is working on a medicinal cannabis law but they decided to left out the personal/community growing aside (because the government is corrupt and drugs are a big part of their income) so if you get caught with even 1 plant, you get fucked!

It's really sad, because we have some previous judge rulings stating that, the current law for drugs is unconstitutional because it contradicts a national law which states that whatever you do inside your house, as long as you don't bother anyone, it's not uncle sams business. So if you get caught, you still have the chance of getting out free depending on the judge that you get.
Long story short, it sucks. There is no regulation and depending on the judge, since there is not a well defined drug law, you can either get fucked or get saved. But still, the whole police coming to your hose, taking you to jail and so, you still have to face that shit either way.

OK, at what current is a single board the most efficient, qb288 and qb304.
Softer is better. Good voltage constant and run less amps. They get more and more efficient until they won't run at all.

As you can imagine, it gets more expensive because you then need more boards/chips/COBs but you'll get the payback in terms of less electricity usage and better light distribution.

@robincnn @Stephenj37826 any idea when the 260w xl qb288 kits will be back in stock on your site or growerslights?? I had 4 in my cart on growerslights yesterday and by the time I tried to check out today, they had sold out... I'm really bummed... :-(
I think Growers Lights has stock. I am sending them some more kits next week.
We will stock kits next weekend. This weekend QB120
