roseman...do you put your clones directly into rockwool and in the big container with the new setup or do you root them somewhere else......those are some nice root masses though.....im looking to buid an aero cloner....but im likeing the homedepot aero/drip/bubble setup you built....
Rose doesn't clone, he grows from seed... But I have rooted cutting in the BP system plenty of times, check out my album

Hey Roseman. I'm starting my bubbleponics system and I have a few questions.

I hope you;'ll join the BubbleHead Gang.

1. I have an 18 gallon tote, is that too big and if not, how many gallons of water should I be using?

I use 6 gallons of water in a 8 gallon tank, and rule of thumb is you fill the tote up until the water line is two inches below the bottom of the cups. You're going to wind up with about 12 to 14 gallons of water, which means you'll need twice (to 3 times) the nutes that most of us need, because you got 2 to 3 times as much water. Also, the more water, the more pH problems. You can use that tote, but you'll have extra work. A 6 to ten gallon tote would be better.

2. Do I need the water to drip steadily ( with a drip attachment on the end, going into the pot ) Or is it not supposed to have a drip attatchment, and just flow from the tubing?

Thanks for your threads, and thanks for your response.

If it is a very slow DRIP, like on a TIMER, that will work. Bubbleponics uses a trickle of half water, half oxygen, (bubbles) that just send a bubbley trickle of water, NOT a STREAM, NOT a fLOW, but a slight trickle is what you really want....or do a timed DRIP. A STREAM or FLOW will drown the roots.

Let me know how I can help you. This is a thread for asking 50 Bubbleponic growers questions:

Bro, I don't do clones. I tried and tried growing clones. I can easily make clones, I have a Mystic Cloner for 18 cuttings. But everytime, I get smaller plants. I like the giant 5 to 7 ounce yielding plants and I just can;'t get that from a clone. When I try a clone, it makes a stalk, but not a bush.
I like mine to look like this:

with at least a dozen stalks. I can't get my clones to do that.

Yes, you can put a clone direct into the bubleponics System with feeder tubes. YES, you can even 3 out of 4 cuttings to root in the system too. AND, you can even start a seed in it, like I do.

Let me know how I can help you, bro.

Thanks Roseman, you guys are very cool for helping people out like this.

Since I'm new to hydroponics in general. Is there a nutrient mix for both veg and bloom that yall recommend. I read that you use baking soda as a ph stablizer. Do you use 2 tbl. spoons a gallon? Also do you alternate 1 week of nutrient mix, 1 week ph balanced distilled water, or do you always have a nutrient mix running?

If you could point me out the feeding schedule you use that would be cool. I'm using a 10 gallon black tote by the way.

I appreciate all your help brother. I've always been kinda intimidated by going hydro, but yall gave me some confidence.

Fox Farm or Flora - Nova

I VEG Northern Lights and White Widow for 6 weeks, to about 30 inches tall, the eBloom for 9 weeks, to about 40 to 46 inches tall. I average 3 ounces of dried manicured buds per plant, always get a one ounce runt tho) and once I got a 6 ounce and once I got a 7 ounce plant.

Those sativas take months to Flower!

Thanks for the link Roseman, I bookmarked it, that answered about every question I had.

I'll take pictures of my set-up when I get my seeds in and in veg. I ordered some AK-48 feminized, I have two bagseed plants in Ocean Forest right now, just put them in flower on the 28th. Humidity is killing me right now, the cabinet is in the garage and I'm in Texas. I have a A/C window unit that I ducted into the cab, so heat is no problem. Sometimes it gets to 65 deg with the lights on at night. I keep it running on low during the day when the lights are off.

But like I said humidity is a bitch.

Shit, one more thing. My tote is 10 gallons. the net pots (4) sit an inch away from the water with 5 gallons in it. Is that cool?
