wow, nice design... and oh, so clean and sharp. looks easy, it's cheap, seems like the perfect diy for the noob. after checking out this entire thread, i wonder if it would be good to add a blue foam pad (or some other porous non-haz material) at the bottom of the top container (where there would be a hole in the center to allow for the sprinkler head to pop up through, but covering all the drainage holes) specifically for filtration, so no plant material would drop through and sit/rot between changing the reservoir . also, i've been looking for a good step by step from clone to harvest for lighting, nutes, etc. anyone know of a good informative site??? I am not a beginner to growing different herbs, trees, and foliage outdoors, but i've only recently tapped into aero/hydro as a possible alternative for indoor use; due to uncertain weather patterns in my area. i would assume you could add fresh clones from any type of herb, dipped in a growth hormone and planted/buried in clay pellets (or rockwool) until an inch or so of the stem is showing from the bottom of the planter basket, on a 12/12 lighting reg, change water and add nutes when necessary, and harvest 8wks later. i'm prob missing something and want to plan for all necessary stages; as it would be a waste to kill everything halfway into the grow.
