Discussion on cloning systems/methods - perpetual grow help

Great info thank you! So what is the reason for the relay? What could happen? I'm thinking of getting a few more battery backup things that are usually used for computers. Been plugging my lights and pumps into a timer that is plugged into the ac power supply thing. So should I get a relay to go in between this timer and lights? I just got a few Apollo digital timers that are in one minute intervals. Will play around with the flood times. On the 3x3 flood tables I'll have 250 gph pump flooding them. Should take 15 min to fill and drain I think. Should I get relays for the water pumps too?

I don't really want to do any drain to waste like your doing. Gonna have the moms setup with their own drip rings. Gonna start looking up different reviews on brands. Would like some that don't clog up from salt buildup easily. I have mesh bags for the pumps to filter the water.

Re reading this again I understand more. So you have a perpetual where you harvest 5 plants every 2 weeks. I can't do that it I have 2 seperate 3x3 flood trays for flowering plants.they will all be fed the same nutrient feeding so they all need to be the same in maturity.
So you think I have hope of cropping out 1/2 lb or more off of clones that were sent straight to the flowering rooms? Close to 1000 watt equivalent in led over each area.
I do 2000w hps perpetual with very limited veg time in coco and pull over an LB easily. I don't see why you wouldn't get 1/2?

Awesome! Yea I'm selling my hopes short so in not let down by my first harvest. A pound would be awesome each month.

Oh damn I didn't know this will be your first grow, seems like you have a lot of know how. Yeah, you shouldn't have any problem hitting your mark.

Well not my first grow its my second. But the first time was just one plant one bucket and dwc. Got 6 ounces off of it but it was vegged for a month Played around with s ge clones but not much luck. Been studying and researching since and now setting up proper.

When you start do a seed in a budding table.
When it's large enough FIMM for a mom.
This will give you a chance to get the watering cycles down without ruining a bunch of seeds in the event that the watering cycle you have chosen isn't quite correct..

I set the NPK in the res for the tables at 1/6 of what the fertilizer says per gallon of water for soil outside. At this ratio it is safe to spray/feed the plant(s) straight from the res using the pump up sprayer Sometimes instead of just topping up the res with fresh water I'll spray fresh water on the plants and on the gravel to top up the res. I top up the budders res every 24 hours with fresh water.

My 3'x3' table gets dolomite lime for a ph down and acts a ph stabilizer. It would probably be easier to start with a liquid ph down.

So, in order...budding table, cloning bin, mother plant(s) medium and watering system.

Well since I have so many seeds and a lot of which were freebies I think I'm gonna pick a good well known stable strain seed to start a mother, and then while I'm getting the mothers grown up tall for clones, i might as well throw some seeds in to do a quick veg and flower so I can get some harvest by the time my mothers area ready. Idk just would hate to wait that long to take clones to then begin flowering plants. Your tips are helping thank you.

Seeds are fun. If you want, take cuttings from each of the plants and label them all before you flower them. There may be a pheno or 2 in there that you will not forgive yourself for not saving later.
And good practice for cloning to keep your perpetual going.
Good luck man, I'm sure you'll do just fine.

Good call. Maybe I'll just start all of the seeds I want to grow and then take cuttings of them all to make for mothers. Can study the original plants to see which strains are the most stable Ect. Thanks man! Excited can't wait. Building a wall right now to seperate veg/flower. Keep an eye out I'll just stay on this thread with my build updates.

Been workin on the light proof wall between the veg and flowe areas. Using this solid black corrigated plastics pipe bent at 90 degree angles I hope will keep the light out and allow enough airflow. Going to add 3-4 more on the right side of the first pic attached near that wall instead of he ceiling. Hope to keep those lower to also pull cool air through to the veg area.

Hoping these end up being light proof. Almost done with the wall. Thinking of covering the two large opening with Reflectics but on the opposite side that the other layer of Reflectics is on and Velcro ing it in place. That way I can take those panels off when I'm in there workin.

The big panel of Reflectics closest to the vertical row of black 90 degree vent tubes is velcroed in place for easy removal. Plan to do the same thing for the large empty doorway on the wall, and one for the original entry door to the grow room.

Do the sprayers work better than just an air pump with air stones bubbling? I mad a mini 5 gal with sprayers running 24/7 and had zero luck.
Were you using a rooting hormone? Also, just to save another post. Sometimes when clones don't root, and the others around do, I will re-cut. Just one more question; how long were they in the cloner? As the secod pic shows, not all cuttings root at the same rate. Also, this is just my opinion, but different strains clone easier than others.

I used like 1/4 of what the cloning solution reccomendations after using straight water for a few days. Just got my Area 51 lights in but noticed one of the boxes had been opened. Looks like the box that held my 6 lights had been opened and re taped, and one of the light boxes itself was opened as well. Wondering if a51 did this:/

I would say "be patient"

Makes me paranoid seeing my light boxes were opened. Really hoping no one is getting suspicious of me in this town. I don't give reasons too other than the fact that I've ordered a lot of equipment.

I feel your pain. I remember what it was like before I moved to a free state. I once had to purchase a light at a electrical dist. outfit. ( there was no such thing as Amazon) The guy was a dick! He knew what I was up to and kept trying to sell me a mercury vapor bulb claiming it would run off the same ballast but cost less to run. I bought the bulb so I would not look suspicious, but I know the prick called the cops anyway. I threw the bulb away, rented a U-Haul, and moved to Oregon:)

Nice! I just traveld the coast of Oregon. Loved it out there! I'm not gonna worry I mean if I'm doing this in obviously not afraid of getting caught. It's my right as a person to be able to grow a plant in my home I don't give a dam about the laws lol. Just weird. Now someone knows that I am growing something in my house. Hoping it was just a simple check to inspect the items that were mailed. Maybe a51 had to put insurance on this shipment making ups need to inspect. Idk. I don't care I guess.
