Discussion on cloning systems/methods - perpetual grow help

Right now in the process of making my grow room. I plan to have 2 3x3 flood trays in seperate areas, both for flower. Both with 600-750 watts of LED lighting each.
Then in another area a 2x4 flood tray to keep several moms and I'm hoping clones with 2 2' 4 bulb t5 fixtures.
However, this is a small tray for the both of them so thinking of using it only for 2-4 mother plants.
Each 3x3 flower tray should be able to hold around 15 clones that have been vegged since the clone was taken for 3 weeks before switching to flower. This is including rooting time. And this will allow me to keep up with the perpetual if I can make another area for clones.

---First off----
Do you think this is too many clones for a 3x3 tray? Trying to do a perpetual grow, alternating between the two flowering areas harvesting each month and trying to get the most yield out of each. What would you do if these were your goals?

Secondly---
what is a simple method for taking roughly 25 clones at a time? Would you build a small tent for this? What would be the simplest, easiest to maintain and run system to water these clones so they aren't needing babysitting every day all day. I have a bunch of 2" net pots and round plugs to hold the clones up..

Id love to be able to fit this in the same room as the other 3 grow areas but it's cramped as it is.
I plan to use hydroton in 5" or 8" net pots once the clones have fully rooted in their root plugs. Once they go into the flower area there will be a layer of coco mat added to the bottom of the tray for extra root room and to help anchor them.

The whole idea is to be as simple and easy to keep up as possible, get the most yield, and keep a constant run going for a perpetual harvest. Want to do it as efficiently as possible. My goal is to crop out 1/4 - 1/2 lb of 8 week strain bud each month. Being modest so I don't disappoint myself. Never have done packed trays of clones before.
Was thinking of doing different methods in each flower area but I'll need to make it all time the same to keep the perpetual sceduale going correctly. Thanks for reading all:)

#2 I place a standard dual 4' fixture using cool white tubes on the ceiling and place a shelf under it large enough to pin a clear plastic garbage bag using thumb tacks. I run two wires up to the ceiling from the front corners of the shelf. I use these wires to support the front/opening of the clear plastic garbage bag. I hang a jug at the drain/air hole and put a single layer of gravel for drainage. The bottom of the bag becomes the back of the bin and it gets pinned to the wall with thumbtacks.

To answer the first question, I run 25 clones in a 3'x3' table, planted two weeks apart and planted when rooted, no veg time.
Nice and what is your harvest weight with 25 clones with no veg time. That might be closer to what I'm gonna try. Thanks for the tips!

I'm kinda trying to think of something permanent and built well since I plan to do this for a while. Really want to get as close to 100% success rate with them too.
Hmm

I don't mind at all. I apprecciate it. Idk how to move it or I would. Only have my phone and it makes it difficult to navigate this site sometimes. Thanks!

Build a bubble cloner. No misting or humidity dome needed. You do have to clean them out real well in between each set of clones though, or else your % might go down. But as long as you keep it clean, there should be no reason you don't get 100%.

Is that just an air pump with an air stone in the res for the clones? The last time I used a humidity dome but this caused some leaves to go brown after a week and only a few rooted.
Id like to build a small table and a system to go on it that can hold 25-30 clones and automated to where I only need to top off with water.
Wanna help me design one? Lol

Nice! Thanks for positing that. I'm gonna make something a little sturdier and bigger here soon. And yes I plan to do a full grow journal. I might not start it until I get a few mother plants going good.

I may do a quick round of plants to veg and flower In the flowering area since it has the 4 rw150s from Area 51 so I can flip off the Reds. Might as well do this while I spend a few months getting some solid mother plants going. I want to be really thourouh and specific and concentrated when I do make a journal so prolly will wait until mothers are ready.

Yeah like this. Maybe the dome caused the problems, I never used one with these. I just used root riots now

ya mine is gonna be a perpetual but I need to do some trial runs on what strain I wanna try to do a true SOG with . I have a bunch of strains to try. its exciting but also a little stressful trying to work out the logistics of how it will go.
i will definitely be following when ya make a journal. best of luck to ya:bigjoint:

I hear ya there! I also will be needing to figure out what strains to try. Going to stick with 8 week strains at first but want to do some sativas also.
Loki could drive myself nuts trying t figure out all the logistics of everything. Think I jus gotta run with what i have and figure that out as it comes.
Right now trying to find a reservoir to make a bubble cloner out of. Similar to the one in the link. Need something sturdy and with a sturdy lid. Idc if it's $$ or if it's from an actual hydroponic company, just don't like any of the totes I've seen for this use. Any ideas?
I'm runnin active Aqua flood trays and reservoirs and they are very nice. Maybe I'll just get another one of their reservoirs for this. Hmmm
