I decided to try my hand at an outdoor Auto to see how they do here in Northern climes.
I was given two auto seeds from a mate and only this one popped.
I had it growing in a 4" pot indoors under 4000K F Strips until the weather warmed up a bit then transplanted it into the 19l air pot and stuck her outside. It's in a mixture of homemade compost, Biobizz light mix, perlite and sand.
Shes 8" tall.
I hadda stake her to a bamboo last week as we got hit by a storm, I lost a 28 year old weeping willow tree to it, snapped right at the base ffs. WW Auto weathered it out tho.
I move her around the garden, chasing the Sun to maximise the photons.
It can probably get 10 - 12 hours of direct Sunlight that way.
I give it some solar led at night, not much but anything is better than nothing.... lol
The WW Auto is now 29 days since she broke the soils surface from seed.
Im at 55°N so it gets quite cool at night here but day time temps are 18 - 20°C
I can veg regular and fem seeds into monsters but can't flower them outdoors as budrot and mildew sets in around late August in these parts.
Fingers crossed that the WW Auto will do well.

Yea, led solar lights are crap to be sure. The garden is absolutely covered in solar leds but they've pretty weak light.
Everyone is annoyed about the tree. All the passers by loved it, especially at Christmas time when it was bedecked with leds.
The Tree is dead, long live the Tree!

btw, love the reflective thing under the plants!
Thanks, I've used it for years indoors too. Every photon counts.
Very unusual weather here at the moment, which is nice but when the clouds come back the light levels to the plants drops way back.
Here's a shot of the Dinafem WW Auto I took about 15 minutes ago.

No time for sleeping.

Lol
The missus has the garden covered in solar leds so she'll not miss these ones!
There's a pair of spot lights that would be far better to use but unfortunately, she has them shining on a Gorrilla she's bought and I daren't move them.

The heatwave we were having has waved goodbye for now. The weather changed on Tuesday.
Temperatures dropped by 10°C and the sunshine has been replaced by clouds, showers and the odd sunny spell.
She's still growing well though.

And here's a reading of the reduced photons plants receive when there's cloud cover blocking the Sun.

That's still plenty of light.

Now at day 42 from breaking soils surface.
Doing ok, in spite of the weather.
I gave her about 1.5l of Tomatorite feed at an EC of 0.9 yesterday.
The weather has been pretty abysmal from the last post above, high winds, rain, cloudy and pretty cool temperatures.
Some of the lower leaves have taken a bit of a battering. They were damaged by wind flailing them on the leds.
A leaf or two actually look like it's thrip damage but the wind has done it.
The wee RQS Royal Gorrilla photo clone is a lot more compact looking compared to the WW Auto.
WW Auto looks as if it might be a big plant, we'll see.......

Day 54 from seed popping surface
Gave it 1.5l of Tomatorite N4 P3 K8 at 1.0 ec yesterday.
I haven't had to water this plant much at all due to the rain lately.
Temperatures have been on the cool side outdoors 16 - 18°C plenty of cloud but it's doing ok.

The Gorrilla got attacked by a what I think was Tortrix moth caterpillar at the top. I saw the leaves looking a bit weird, sticking together curling. Found a small caterpillar, disposed of it. Sprayed plant with a dose of bug gun clear.

It'll be ok.

Plant seems slow tò bud but the cool weather and low light levels here might be a factor. I'm not too concerned as I expect it to be ready around August time.

Really shit weather this past week, no sunshine, lots of rain. In fact it's raining as I take these pics.
At least I don't have to water.
Temperature went down to 8°C - 46°F last night.

78 days from seed. 11 weeks so far and a while to go yet by the looks of it. I'd guesstimate it'll take 15 - 16 weeks total. Luckily I'm in no rush lol
It's reached its limit on the height department now.
The weather has been the usual, rain and overcast.
Temperature min 9°C at nightime.
Temperature now is 14.8°C
Height of plant 3ft. - 36" - 91cm

Day 88 from seed popping soil surface.
Still 36" tall 91cm. She's fattening up rightly now.
Terrible weather as usual. Rain, light rain, heavy rain, showers, mizzle, drizzle and everything in between lol

I spied a small bit of mold yesterday on one of the side buds. I've chopped off the bud and area around it.
I'll neèd to keep a really close eye on the plant now. I want to let it go another week or two yet, weather permitting.
I also found another caterpillar spun inside a leaf so I removed it.
The plant is starting to fade now and there's some purpling starting to appear.
