OK, your doing it for the emerson effect, where you do run it all day. But he said you need 1 puck for basically 1x1ft area for it to be beneficial. Rapid does now have a strip tho that does emerson on a better level. expensive at $99.99

For night time initiation, you just need to run it for 10 minutes at lights out.

Those are interesting charts... look like high CRI but 5000K isn't usually available in high CRI. Anyway, a good flowering spectrum will have from 8-20% blue, spike at 30-60% is generally in that range.

Can you link to the lamps with those spectrums?

I would have purchased the $99 strip if it was ready. It would have fit my flower light perfectly.
It's basically $60 in parts with an added heatsink. I think it's quite reasonable. I do plan on building my own.

does it really average out results like that? ex: 10000k and 1000k lights - 1 of each, essentially is 2 of 5500K?

it was from HLG's site but froim what i understand about spectrums, all spectrums are the same regardless of lamp. brand A and brand Z will both be same spectrum if they label it 3000k, theres no variance at each spectrum

Your understanding is incorrect. Not all 3000K spectrums are going to be identical - similar, yes but not identical. It's about the area under the curve and the ratio of that area from left to right. For instance, the blue peak you typically see in LED spectrums - make it wider, but not as tall and you have a very different curve (visually) but the same left/right balance mathematically.

so in your example,. both would have the same K rating due to area, but the plant will enjoy one more (perhaps the one with the spike of blue ) despite having the same K rating?

Yes, the spectrum with wider but smaller peak is what I would prefer.

It is my opinion that the more balanced (or "flatter") the spectrum is the better overall for the plants.
