I always just pay in cash. You are probably cool but...Texas is frightening for herb. So strict. Was there for a sisters wedding smoking hash in hotel room...maid smelled it...7 cops showed up..searched my room hard. Found nothing..(hash was in a chapstick tube for flight). I was stilled asked to leave hotel.

Maybe if you are paranoid...return the stuff...get credit...come back and but in cash.
 
Avoid credit/debit card payments. Cash doesn't leave paper trail. And don't buy everything in the same place, couldn't be more obvious.
 
Let's be realistic, even if she did grass you up to the police, what evidence would the police have to get a search warrant to come onto your property? If they come knocking on your door then don't answer. Simple as that mate :)

This was 20 years ago, but quite simply, having bought lights alone was enough to provoke a raid. I don't think we live in the same times, but that is not to say there is no reason to be cautious. Purchasing grow equipment and supplies most certainly has been used as a sole reason for a search warrant and subsequent bust. These days, with Amazon, etc. the haystack is much larger and I doubt they go searching for that needle, yet there is still precedent. FWIW...

agree, now Im not paranoid, well atleast not more then the next guy, but I do pay in cash in my hydro store, just in case, why not, not more difficult, just have to drive by a ATM on the way, 5 minutes to avoid any paranoia later on :D

I actualy ask em once (Im there so often that Im on fist name with two of the guys in there and usually spend 1/2 a hour just to buy a few things)

they said most Ppl. do not think about it and use there card`s and they did`t think or had ever heard of cop`s useing the credit info to bust Ppl.

tho he was sure them big scale growers who was in for it to sell did`t use credit cards and that the police did`t care or had the time to look for small time "personal smoke" growers who might grow a few plants since they got a bag of soil etc.

Im sure she just had to make sure she had the right guy for the card (some stores instruct there employs to take card info on special cards if there is`t credit enough or the card is stolen, small shops can loose a lot of money)

also, if it was for the police why bother get driver license info ? they could just track your credit card ?
 
Wow, too bad man. There's only one thing to do. You have to go back and get your information. You have to break in after they close and find it. If you cannot find it, you have to burn the place to the ground to destroy the evidence. If you do nothing, I give you 48 hours before SWAT shows up with choppers, tanks, and dogs. Damn shame. Kidding, ma dude. You're fine. But tell NO ONE of your grow. I think every third person in Texas is on some kind of probation or parole. I hate that state.
 
As a previous retail multi-store owner......my guess is the owner asks the clerk to write down the D.L. license as proof she looked at the license for identity verification. She probably wrote it on the store receipt. But, this is one example why I don't buy supplies locally. I pay the extra, and always order from the other side of the country. Why make it easier for them?
 
Sometimes store policy is to write the id number. She could be new. As stated above it is not illegal to purchase anything growing related except marijuana.
 
Think of it this way. If the Feds wanna drop in on you, they will. You're a registered user of a marijuana growing website. If you think for a second the govt doesn't have a nice little list going of people that look at certain "flagged" material on the internet, you're kidding yourself. They're not going to all of a sudden raid you because some 18 year old store clerk at a gardening store taking your info either, you're one dude growing a few plants, they've got bigger fish to fry.

As far as your local fuzz, stay off their radar and be smart and you'll be a-ok. They're not going to investigate everyone in town that buys some grow equipment. That's the least of your worries. Keep your mouth shut about the grow around town and make sure no one smells anything "funky" around your place and you'll be a high and happy person :bigjoint:

If you weren't in a hydro store, wouldn't it make you more comfortable that somebody stealing your card had a chance of being noticed?
