Did anyone use Medical Marijuana Services, MMS?

I'm Jess, and it was one week ago today that I thought about looking into a Medical Marijuana prescription. I thought you needed cancer to qualify, and as it turns out my 17 years of mental illnesses finally did something for me!

I used "Medical Marijuana Services" and I actually thought that they were the only one. I had a phenomenal experience. They were fast, kind, compassionate, funny, everything I could have asked for.

I liked them so much that I applied for a job, and got one!!

Just wanted to hear about anyone else's experience with them.

And I'm just so excited about this!

Welcome to the boards Yessica I don't personally know anything about MMS, but maybe some of the forums members in the T.O area are familiar with them and will share. I know that sites like cannareview.com and liftmj.com have sections for reviewing doctors and clinics like MMS, so you could always share your experience there to point future patients in the right direction to get a prescribing doc

What sort of a job did you get?

It's a position they did not have - but I was very passionate about it. When I started looking into getting a MMS prescription I was experiencing horrible side effects from my depression medication. I thought I would NEVER qualify. It was so easy, and I talked to lovely people on the phone, and I actually think I cried from joy, because I'm kind of a cryer.

I went online and applied to all the 13 licensed producers, if they has job posting or not. Then I wrote the Medical Marijuana Services and told them that I wanted to spread awareness to groups and communities that do not know about the accessibility of Medical Marijuana at the current time. They liked my enthusiasm, and possibly just offered me a job because they wanted me to shut up - hahahaha.

So - my job is that - awareness spreader. I would like to implement presentations and take them to different demographics of Canadian's: retirement aged, university, hospital patients, doctors, med students, etc.

I want to stop the Conservative government from being elected in 2015, and if I have to go to every single door I can reach and cry, I will do that.

I have never had a job that I cared much about, and I haven't even started this one yet, and I'm already just stoked.

If you have any ideas, I'm open! I love ideas!

One idea would be to advertise here at RIU and at ICMAG. Assuming MMS have given you an advertising budget to work with.

I don't start until August first. One more contract of cooking with my current employer. But THANK YOU! I will definitely add that to my "manifesto".

Price?

Price of Medical Marijuana Services? It's a sliding scale 100 - 400 dollars (400 is only special circumstances). I have not been charged yet because I still have to meet with the Skype Dr next week - it was delayed because the first place that I picked (Mettrum) was out. Im glad though, because then I switched to Tilray.

MMS's prices have dropped 50% since they started, and they would like to make it even cheaper in the future. By the sounds of everyone that I have talked to, and asked many many questions to - they just want to help people.

That's why I want to work with them! I love helping people!

You can see the doctor and get your document before you pick your LP.
I'm very interested in their $100 service, can you give some details?

I have had no luck in my town seeing a real live doctor. I do have a dentist appointment today, I'm filling out an application for a family doctor - after being on a wait-list for almost a year, and I have a psychiatrist appointment at the end of July.

The walk-in clinic dr's here, do NOT prescribe MMJ. They are all afraid.

But, I finally did get charged by MMS. It was 350.00. That's pretty high I think. But, I do have a dr appt on the 30th with their Dr, and then I'll get my stuffs.

So was it worth it? Sure! I'm poor as shit and that's pretty much all my money until I go up to work again. But, I like the idea of not having to worry about arrest for taking the only thing that makes me feel better.

My personal MMS experience:

1. I signed up for their web-service on Friday June13th.

2. Saturday June 14th - someone called my on the phone from Montreal (I was at the Pride festival, and unfortunately did not remember the conversation well - I just remember they were very nice on the phone).

3. Sunday June 15th - I called them back, and asked them to repeat everything that they had told me the day before. Which they gladly did, and then I asked them some questions about their online application.

4. Monday June 16th - printed off and filled out their application (where you first had to pick your LP and print out their specific medical documentation form) and mailed it off priority post.

5. Tuesday June 17th - received a phone call from a lovely lady from MMS and she asked me for my skype name, which I had forgotten on the original application.

6. Thursday June 19th - I received a phone call from the MMS, saying that my original choice Mettrum had no product, and I needed to pick another. So I picked Tilray and e-mailed them off the medical document form.

7. Friday June 20th - signed into my skype for the first time and saw that MMS had added me. I added them - and said hello.

8. Saturday June 21st - had a skype date with the nice MMS lady where she just needed to check my skype account to make sure I could receive video message. I could, and she set me up with a dr's appt for June 30th, a 2-hour time period.

9. Monday June 23rd - received a phone call that my original method of payment was declined (it was a visa bank card and they don't work in replacement of a credit card - no matter what the people at TD say), so then I interac money transferred them the funds. $350.00.

10. Monday June 23rd - received a phone call that my method of payment went through.

Now - I just wait for the appt. I'll let you know how the rest of it goes...

It would be MUCH simpler if I could just go to a fucking Doctor in town. Hopefully one day.

All in all, it was very pleasant. Just for the novelty that a older woman with a sweet-sounding voice called me about MMJ several times.

But until that phone call, my boyfriend was not totally convinced that they were not trying to steal my identity. I'm a naturally trusting person, and I wasn't as worried.

Mostly because - if someone stole my identify - they would be stuck with super bad credit! hahaha

Ask them to split your prescription if ordering from more than one LP interests you...

Sure will! Although right now ordering seems a little cock-blocked by supply and demand. Plus, for 10 bucks a gram, I may have to go through other channels.

Unless it's so good my head explodes...in which case I'll stay with 'em!

Them being Tilray - although I don't think I'll get to test their product until late July when I return to the homeland.

So you had to pay all that money and they still haven't given you a date for your appointment? I'm also wondering what qualified you as being on the very upper end of their sliding pay scale and how they justified that to you?

If you haven't seen a doctor yet, there is no reason why you can't change your mind about producers or add another one to increase your chances of finding one you like. Canna Farms just reopened registration and looks promising, they are a smaller LP with a nice selection and prices in the $6-12 range. Just have the forms ready from whatever LP(s) you choose and provide them to the doctor to sign at the time of your appointment. Whatever daily amount he/she prescribes you for, they should be able to split that between two different LP's for you no problem.

Have an appt, on the 30th!

A generic medical document is all the doctor has to sign. It does not have to be LP specific.

In time, when there's 50 odd LPs are doctors supposed to have 50 odd different medical documents?

The LPs are pushing their own medical document, it's just a marketing ploy.

Alright - it's DONE!

I have met with my skype Dr, and my bits are in the mail! I can't actually pick up, or whatever the prescription until I get back from working away, the end of July. I don't even have the money right now to pay for the prescription - I will when I get back from work though!

I am so happy to be legal. So happy, that I updated my "facebook" status, and received an enormous wave of support from long lost friends and family.

So many other people I knew had been having terrible problems, and could be benefited by a prescription, but they don't know how to get one! Or their Doctors are too "old school" and would never prescribe. Or their Doctors are worried about loosing their licences, as they should be with the horrible things that the current government are doing.

I have told all who ask, to first and foremost, ask their family Doctors. That's the best route - if they are willing. If that doesn't work - use MMS! They were lovely, and I am now one of "them". hahaha!

Well, as of August 1st. This is going to be SO FUN!!!!!
