Did anybody else know DEHUMIDIFIER'S are F'Ing expsensive?

My last and first successful grows was done in the winter when humidity is very easy to control when you have forced air gas heat...unfortunately at the moment, humidity has gotten out of control due to the recent week and a F'ing half of constant rain that the almighty has felt was necessary to bestow upon us and after a night of a high of 62% RH in my tent during lights off, I freaked out and decided a dehumidifier was necessary ASAP...then after I saw the cheapest model at lowe's was $219, I decided to scoure craigslist and I wound up finding me a sweet ass digitally controlled dehumidifier for an even hondo which was nice but still....I thought I was gonna get out of this whole humidity issue with a cool $50 but apparently this was a learning experience for me that had to be done.

Jonny has had white powdery mold before and will not risk it again!

BTW, my central AC is set @ 75 all the time so it runs pretty much non-stop but still won't keep the RH down enough w/o the DH

Try looking for a ducted dehuey and see how $$$ they are, because that bad boy will be throwing extra heat on ya.

Yeah, they can get up there. My humidity nearly always runs high so I try to stick with strains that are PM resistant. Certain strains just tend to always have a couple spots for me, even with a dehumidifier.

The extra heat during lights off is actually a good thing (within reason). The RH goes up when the temperatures drop, so having a dehumidifier in the room helps by keeping the temps up a bit and obviously by pulling some moisture out of the air.

Also Johnny try to water your plants in the morning if at all possible. Watering right before lights go out and RH rises is only compounding the problem.

Roll the unit in to the tent right before lights off, and roll it back out when lights come on.

Was just putting that out there for his consideration.( it sounded to me maybe he had not run one before)I don't know Johnny's particular situation, but in my case the 2 I was running in flower were giving my mini-split all it could take.

Ya, I always only water at lights on and I suck out all of the excess water from the base of the tent after watering so I'm leaving no residual behind when I close up the tent flap.

Wanna hear something really depressing? Jonny might have just been had on this dehumidifier...the compressor is not kicking on :(

I'll have to try and contact his assfuck tomorrow to find out if this was an honest mistake or if I'm going to have to put a brick through somebody's window. Jonny is not happy right now

At least tell me this, what's the highest my humidity should go before I need to panic here? I'm doing all I can not to breach 50%

Yeah, I would never buy a used one. I buy a new one damn near every summer from Lowes or HD because they just seem to peter out in about 12-18 months with daily use.

MY RH during lights on is in the 45-50 range, and my lights off is around 48-53. As long as you don't keep your room too cool (below 70) you should be fine in that range.

In my experience, around 40% is max in flower. I have had strains that will still get some PM spots around 40% though.

Good air flow under and at your canopy, RH in the 45-55 range and temps between 75-85 and you have nothing to worry about unless it's an extremely dense strain.

Bummer....

I feel like I just got royally raped and then made to pay for it....fuck I will never use craigslist again. Very shitty shitty deal

I guess I was asking for it dealing with the sludge of the earth that barter on craigslist.

Nah, it's blue dream so it's a strong sativa dominant plant with long fingerish buds.....I have 2 clip on fans blowing down over the canopy and 1 high velocity 8" fan blowing from under the canopy through the roof of the canopy with 2 6" intake ports at the base. Airflow is definitely no issue but I sure wish this rain would go the hell away to make things just a little easier. Well, time will tell here...

You can buy one at Costco, use it for 88 days and then return it.

Make sure they still have their very liberal return policy first though. I have had to go borrow three
of their 14k btu portable ac's when I was having problems with my mini split.

lol that's pretty entertaining. Well on the upside to this pis poor story of mine...I did get a hold of that guy I bought this thing from and he said if the compressor isn't condensing by tomorrow to get a hold of him so I suppose it's a good sign at least that he is responding to me. I'll let y'all know tomorrow how this little situation pans out...$100 is a lot of money to burn up for an oversized paperweight.

Ya, probably not a cool thing to say...just very pissed off that this is the 2nd rough experience I've had out of 3 on craigslist deals. Nonetheless, I still will not be doing anymore business on craigslist.
