Limon blanco (nearest) and king gelato
20240102_185426.jpg
The gelato isn't doing great tbh, I think I've caught it in time but it could go either way?

I've been recycling that same coco for 2 years now.
20240102_184632.jpg
It just keeps working so I'm not going get in it's way lol

They're loving the rise in temps I'm sure I could see a difference in then today?

Blueberry and Swiss skunk have stopped stretching at 19/20" the gelato is a little taller but I've addressed that, I'm anticipating the autopot plants to stretch a bit this week and the limon blanco.

I've taken clones today
2x blueberry #2
2x Swiss skunk
2x king gelato #2
I'll clone the others later into flower they're just over a week into 12-12.

Edit..I've got blueberry twist and gelato #2 in one tray and Swiss skunk and limon blanco in another tray.
Blueberry and gelato run off is 1.5ec from a input of 1.9ec
the Swiss skunk and limon blanco run off is 1.2ec from 1.9ec input.

Take it easy folk's

There's not really much to do atm20240105_174117.jpg
I'm still not happy with the gelato it's not 100%.

It might look OK in the pic but i can see there's something not right.

I got my little tent, jeezo it's 2 feet tall lol (damned)
Put a light and a pot inside and you loss 6" right off!

My other clone tent is 3ft tall so I'll shuffle things around for the best fit when the time comes.

It's just dawned on me that gelato has been in 12-12 for 6 going on 7 weeks, it's only just started to pre flower pistils

I'll see how it turns out, then I'll see how long it takes to pre flower if I run it again?

Always expect the unexpected :wall:

Seedlings grow quickly, I've had another 2 break ground and 3 left to sprout.

I'm going to give them a few more days under 24hrs then flip them to 12-12, I'm going to veg/sex them in those 0.25ltr pouches help keep them short, after sexing ± I'll pot them up for flowering.

Another lvtk sprouted today that's two left to sprout, both are blueberry muffin so I'm not really optimistic about them sprouting but they're not in the wway so I'll let them be for now.
(there's 2 added pouches heating for clones)
20241205_153755.jpg
Sour tangie has variegated leafs on them.
20241205_153814.jpg
I'm not sure what to make of it?

It's looking like I've finally got rid of the fungus gnats it's been 7/8 days since I last squished one
20241205_154208.jpg
I'm not absolutely 100% certain they're all gone I'll need a few more weeks before I can make that call however it's a result if that's them I didn't use poison or spend anymore money just a bag.
20241002_123034 (1).jpg
They're growing well they don't seem to mind the bags it's clear they're getting enough oxygen, that aside gnats can't get in/out spreading eggs around they're confined and easily squished.
20241107_185152.jpg
That was 2 months before they stopped hatching completely..
Assuming they have stopped completely?

Hopefully fingers crossed bud should be surely by now and good call on holding of on the pesticides as well that should be a last resort thing too many growers are spray happy imo with no forward thinking to risk

Aye mate absolutely pesticides are last resort, I'll use them if i need to but I'd exhaust other options where possible.

Good to see you up again! For gnats you can try my mums trick: mix some sugar, water, soap and vinegar in a wide container and place it where the bugs are. Keeps em down and at least a bit busy.
Thanks bud I appreciate that, they're good traps and they're simple to make, I thought it was fruit flies I was seeing so I tried fruit juice to start with and that worked quite well :eyesmoke:

I'm looking at other prevention measures atm this only £16
Screenshot_20241205_213635_Brave.jpg
I'm going to hang something like this in the room I'm waiting for a reply atm regarding suitability for fungus gnats...some dude in the feedback commented about it killing gnats so maybe?

I considered one of these but for a couple of quid more a can get the partable 6w version which imo is a better option.
Screenshot_20241205_214813_Brave.jpg
I'm sure it'll have its uses though its a zapper and a light for £6/7

I think the uv part is mainly for attracting, you need the one with a zapper. Good luck, the fight with the gnats is never over.

I was also looking at this type of zapper.
Screenshot_20241206_101459_Brave.jpg
I've used a similar one only better quality with a actual uv bulb and it worked well.

I wonder if they're actual bulb or just led diodes in a plastic sleeve, led would be preferable?

Saturday 7th December...
It's a week today since planting my pre soaked seeds I've 2 a bit slow and 2 that didn't show so all in I'm happy with 19 for sure, it's time to flip them.
20241207_192939.jpg
The sour tangie still look a little off x5 of them?
20241206_150007.jpg
I expect they'll be OK but let's see what happens?

Have you found heat matts are too hot with small amounts of coco/ soil?
Yes me too by a fair margin at that.
20241207_193437.jpg
I've plugged my heat matt into a temperature controller and put the matt under the tray and the probe under a pouch.
20241207_193632.jpg
I've flipped them tonight my heat matt is the only source of heat with the lights off so I need to arrange a heater.

Have a nice weekend folk's

The seedlings are coming along i got 21 from 22 seeds so that's ok, I've put the two late sprouts into the clone tent for now @24hrs to get them growing.
Dec 9th...
20241209_132805.jpg
Dec 11th...
20241211_141617.jpg
I had to raise them up off the floor and put in a tube heater to raise the temps.
20241211_133211.jpg
I put the tray on a box it's only a temporary measure I'm planning on putting them under HID in the next few weeks.

Friday 13th Dec...
That's 2wks tomorrow since planting my seeds they're doing well overall.
20241213_153211.jpg
20241213_154344.jpg
I set up my run off catcher today, I pour some excess nutrient into the tray the coco draws in x amount then the remaining nutrient gets siphoned or wicked into the jug.
20241213_122952.jpg
It even works from bone dry so doesn't require any priming to initiate it and it works on any size.
_20220613_152002.JPG
Below) Lvtk I'm really looking forward to trying those I'm hoping for pledgey or wd40 like terps.
They looked a little suspect but they're going be fine I can see a notable difference in the smaller one today, the other slowish one looks like it's made only a little progress but it's moving in the direction?

I've removed some leaf from 1 of 3 slh seedlings, it seems reasonable that if I want short/small then working from seedling might be a good start?
20241215_173006.jpg
20241215_172957.jpg
Before I cut it, you can see it's slightly taller than its sisters (left)
20241215_172741.jpg
The intended use is seedling so testing on clones isn't feasible.

I don't like that I'm not really in charge of how big they're going to grow, if I was then small plants would be easy but they're not, even 12-12 from seed make big plants, that's great but it's difficult to make them smaller?

I'm already vegging up to sexing +1wk with a handful of coco and 12-12 to limit end size/height.
Screenshot_20240331_140323_Gallery.jpg
And the plants are still nice, for me I mean.

So yeah who'd believe small plants are difficult to grow.

Let's see what happens?

When the leaves of the plants touch they tend to stretch, if you want more horizontal type growth try to keep them apart a bit and not touching eachother and relatively high light levels (obviously dont try them :) ).
Seems like touching eachother starts the race yowards the light cause they sense theyre part of a competitive cannopy.
