Thanks!!
I don't know that I deserve that much credit but thank you. My wife got a kick out of your post too. Who knows, I might just get some tonight, lol. :hump:

Seriously though, thank you. +rep

I took some cuttings from the Sour Grape this morning and put it in the flower room. I later realized that I never FIMd the plant. I hope it still grows some nice fat buds in spite of this, only time will tell I guess. I FIMd the two that are now at 6 weeks of flower and I supercropped the HS but used LST on the GC. They look very different but appear to have similar amounts of bud on them, just forming in different ways. Since I don't have any height issues now I decided to supercrop and FIM my plants going forward and abandon the LST. My approaching harvest will tell me which seems to work best since they were watered and fed exactly the same and were under exactly the same light setup. I know it's not an ideal comparison since they're different strains but the Oaksterdam catalog list them with the same yield rating, I think.

I would take the SG plant out and FIM it a bunch but you're supposed to wait a week or two after doing it before flowering and I'm already behind where I wanted to be by about 2 weeks. I'm going to try and up it a bit too by going for a harvest every 3 weeks instead of 4. 1 plant every 3 weeks roughly...

Any thoughts?

I'm starting to wonder about the flowering period for the GC and HS plants. The Oaksterdam catalog says 8 wks for the GC and 8-9 for the HS but I did a search and found a couple grows of GC and they experience early finishes (6-7 wks).

Mine look better or more finished than the first two plants I grew already. The GC smells amazing too! Kinda lemony, kinda dank piney, kinda slinky, lol. The HS really just smells like a true skunk plant. Both are very heavy on resin and have pistils turning amber and turning back into the buds. I'll check them with a scope tonight an see what it looks like. I'll post a couple closeups of some buds too. Peace out peeps!!

So what's the consensus from the class? Does this plant look done to anybody besides me? I found one bud that has some new looking pistils on it but the rest are all amber/red.

Some of the pics are blurry but I didn't know until I loaded them.

Man, looks like some fire buds. They look good to me but dont you have to check the tricomes to be sure? With like a jewlers loupe or something. I read a few other people posts where they ended up harvesting because all the pistols or hairs were amber/red but it actually needed another week or two. Worst thing you could do would be to get to antsy to harvest and pull em early. After all the hard work put in it would surely be a shame.

A passage from the bible according to J.C.

Pistils turn from white to brown or brownish red as the flower tops ripen. Pistils chaging color indicates plants are turning ripe; however, it is not the best indicator of peak ripeness. After more hands-on research, I have learned that it is difficult to tell peak ripeness by the color of the pistils in all strains. The best gauge of peak ripeness is the color of the resin glands or 'trichomes'.
Resin glands change colors as they ripen. at first, glands are clear. As the continute to mature, then turn translucent milky color and finally then turn amber. Reis glands that are bruised from being squeezed or jostled about deteriorate quickly. All glands do not change. Harvest when about half of the trichomes have turned a creamy translucent color for absolute peak ripeness. At the point the high will be both cerebral and physical with a good head and body stone.

I know harvesting late gives more of a body high and I believe early is more of a head high.

Hope that helps. If you dont want to get a magnifying device my best suggestion would be wait maybe a week longer. Or harvest the top now and the rest in a week if ya want.

I went by using my own opinion on wether it was done or not the last time. I looked at the trichs through a microscope and everything. They weren't done though. I looked at these with my scope too an there's a nice mix of colors just like before but these, to me, look like the one's in the pics in the threads I read whereas the first ones didn't . That's why I'm asking fr help this time.
Thanks though, I appreciate your input.

I have a scope that's 30-60x that I used. After harvesting the last time I read some threads I found and realized they weren't ready. The WW still turned out good but it lost more weight than it should've when curing and the SS wasn't very good at all. Ended up using it for butter and still have some deadly cookies in the freezer. No real regrets as it was a learning experience, I just want these to have every chance of being as good as I know they should be.

The plants look ready to me :)
That's my guess judging by the pics in the main harvesting/curing threads too - they simply "look done", as those do.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. I used my own judgement the last time as to the percentages of the mix of the Trichs and after I chopped them I saw those pics and my buds didn't look like those. Mine still had a lot of milky white pistils and the amber/red ones weren't curling back into the buds. These do look like the pics and the pistils are turning back towards the buds so I'm thinking the Green Cush is ready but not the Hindu Skunk, couple more weeks on that one for sure since it's got a bunch on new looking milky white pistils all over.

Allright so the way you see it in the pic, it weighs 220 grams. Hopefully it comes out somewhere in the 3-3.5oz neighborhood after it dires and I remove all the stems and branches.
Man it took forever to trim, and I didn't even bother with the really small buds. I left those on their branches with the "sweet leaves" intact and threw them in with the rest of the trimmings. I didn't trim up anything that looked like it would be less than a bowl after it's cured.

Enjoy...

Right after I took this pic I decided I didn't like it being that close to the light fixture so I stapled up some string right close to the ceiling of the room and hung it all from that. I'll put something under it tonight to further shield it from the light and throw my remaining PC fan in there to increase circulation in that area.

Yeah, I use Mason jars. I try to follow fdd2blk's method that's posted in the harvest and curing thread.
