Dehumidifier water in mist humidifiers

The only impurities in the dehumidifier water should be whatever was in the air that went into the dehumidifier. Sounds like it should work just fine!

I'd like to think that if this was such a great idea, we'd have dehumidifier/humidifier combo devices marketed to home-growers by now.

Your question was about using the water from a dehumidifier, not the feasibility of a combo unit. There should be no issues with using the water from your dehumidifier in your humidifier.

I used to tank all my condensation & de humidifier water & re use it in humidifiers & feed because it's pure water but my humidifiers slimed up quickly because there was no chlorine in that water. Fighting waterborne molds for a while I let it go & stuck to tap.ive since put a tote bin in the ground & drain all condensation to that & use it for outdoor irrigation

Maybe boil the dehu water first to kill any possible mold spores and bactiria then use it in the humidifier..
Just a thought..

I thought i seen them used in something.. The foggers used in mushroom cultivating.. your water chiller comment reminded me about that..

I almost have to use my mini split's condensate in my swamp cooler. The well water is too hard, and clogs up the honeycomb media within a year or 2. I've had no problems with mold in the rez of the swamp cooler, but I do add a dash of Physan 20, and hit the water with a UVC light every now and then.

I will use water from my dehumidifier in place of ro water for feeding when lazy and have some extra. I do add pool shock so not worried about bugs and such. Dehumidifier water is about the same as distilled water in ppm properties, etc.
