Ya most have never heard either but you must realize heat is divided into three groups - radiation, conduction and convection. We do not want to read radiation with thermometers, thats why plants transpire or radiant heat would heat them up past the point of denature.

Air is merely the convective heat we feel and what we want to read, conductions when you touch something and heat is transfered.

Its one of those things thats really simple but is going to seem complex and fry your brain first - and you though heat was easy, welcome to indoor growing :-)

There's not a space that's to that criteria except above the ballast, butttttt wouldn't that area have its own micro climate?? seems a little warmer up there to :eyesmoke:
