Dee's Area51 LED Multi-Strain Grow

A51 is all I have going on.

I don't have a problem recommending companies that are selling a good product. I've recommended Greners, Growers House, Bonsai Hero and Apache to people, and will again.

I'm comfortable with just A51. I've had offers from some places to either distribute my light, or looking for me to distribute their whatever. Not really interested.

Each light covers a 2x3 area pretty well. IMO, if you want to fill that 3x3 all the way up, 2 of the sgs-160s would be the way to go. Trust me, you will have no lack of light in that tent. However, if your looking to preserve a little bit of "working" space within your tent, 1 light would be ideal.

Can't go wrong either way.

Things were getting a little crowded in the tent so I decided to remove the weakest link of the bunch. The bubblegummer was chosen and placed outside this afternoon. The plant was actually growing quite odd. Since it was a seedling, only one side of the plant grew half yellow, half green leaves. Is this common? Luckily the sunrise/sunset in my area is currently within an hour of 12/12 and will continue to be for the next couple of months. So the bubblegummer will flower outside, hopefully. I included a pic of her in her new home.

So six remain in the tent and things are looking good. A couple of the plants were outgrowing the majority so they were tied down to maintain an even canopy.

The first picture is of the iced widow's undercarriage. This is the plant growing in the 5 gallon pot. Very bulky and vigorous.

The second and third pictures are of the power kush. This plant has been the most vigorous plant of the group. I was able to shorten it by about 1.5 inches by tying her down. Very excited about this plant.

As of now, all the plants are between 7-8 inches. When they reach 10-12 inches I will switch them to flower. I figure in about 2-3 days they will be ready. Can't wait...

The plants were watered shortly before the pictures were taken. I think that may be the cause of the limp looking leaves. On average they have been watered until run-off occurs every 4-6 days. I have been using the "lift the pot" method for watering (wait for the pots to feel light before watering). The difference in weight of the pots before and after the watering is significant.

How would I improve the sharpness of the serrations of the leaves? Is this from just being droopy from the watering? Let me know.

It's a combination of things, that all need to be in proper balance; nute amounts, light wavelengths (looks like you need more white/green to help with stretch), and proper watering.

Whoever said growing weed is easy lied; well at least as it relates to growing quality weed

Lights went out early tonight. So day one of 12/12 tomorrow. I'm actually a bit nervous about what's in store over these next
couple of months lol. But if everything continues to go as smooth as it has so far, I should be in good shape. I will post some

Probably a coincidence but I actually shot you a PM earlier today regarding neem/protekt/soap application. I think your inbox may be full though....

Basically wanted to know how long into flower you usually spray that application for while using it for preventative reasons rather than to eliminate
an infestation and such. I've sprayed my plant once so far about 10 days ago using this solution:

- 1/4 gallon warm/hot water
- 1/2 tsp neem
- 1/8 tsp protekt
- 1/8 tsp dr. bonners peppermint castile soap

Then lots of shaking during the spray down.

I plan to spray them down again tomorrow and once more about day 10 into flower. Does that look/sound about right?

Well I mix the same as you do except the dish soap, I just add it and shake until its fully emulsified. You want the neem to mix with it all so the dish soap will do that. As far as spraying, I always spray during Veg about once every two weeks and then I do a spray the day before I flip the switch and I do another spray at Day 14 of Flowering. After that I only spray if its needed, and never beyond week 5 of Flowering. I also use SNS 209 which is a systemic and works great. I also use this mix when I take clippings, I dunk them in it once a week when they are rooting. Thats how I do my stuff, it works for me and others have their ways of doing this. Its what works for you and your grow!

I am a Silica lover too just make sure you cut the dose in half toward the 4th week of flowering. I cut it out completely after week 3 of flowering. But thats just me. Hope that helps man! Cant wait to see them flower!

Hey everyone,

Today was day 1 of flower and everything is looking great. Plants were sprayed down with the neem and protekt mix immediately after the lights went out. I used my same measurements as before but added an additional couple of drops of dish soap. Everything definitely seemed to mix a bit better this way. Hoping to get a little mold resistence from the spray as well. Humidity has generally ranged from high to low 60's. Damn beach. Lots of air movement in the tent however and will likely add an additional fan half way through flower. I will keep a close eye on them.

Plants look great, beautiful canopy. I lived in San Diego so I understand beach weather n the insane rH%. The mixture spray will help greatly.

Dee, did you use the flower mode throughout veg? I saw one of the random pics with the reds on. Curious why if you did.

I haven't vegged with my SGS yet, thus the curiosity.

No, I used the veg mode throughout the vegetation period. (No red lights)

I miss SD man, I moved from there last summer. I use to live in North Park, now I am in Riverside County and I hate it here.

It is a beautiful first setup chief! Keep up the good work.

Looks like you should have enough space. I found that the buds all want to get right under the light (duh, right?) so I was doing a lot of super cropping my first round with the SGS. I did a little different training this second time around during veg and I'm hoping that it will cut down on some of the super cropping, but who knows?

Im subbed im very curious about leds want to eventually buy one but wanntlearn as much as possible before making my choice of light ect
How much did 1 of those cost and whats a good website I could use?

Yes, the plants have been stretching pretty good since the switch but I'm too scared to supercrop lol. I tied down a few branches yesterday trying to maintain a relatively even canopy but probably won't go much further than that. I do have plenty of height but hoping the stretch stops before they hit 3 feet. 2 - 2 1/2 feet plants has been the goal but we will see....

Do plenty of research before your purchase is my suggestion to you. You get what you pay for....
