Deer Hunting Trophies

Take some responsibility for your own protein consumption - just because you didn't see that bucket of KFC die does not mean it didn't happen. If you don't like hunting, then don't - but you shouldn't hack on people legally obtaining FOOD just because you would rather not see/hear about it.
Prior to being wrapped in cellophane in the grocery store, your summer time bbq steak & brats were penned up in some feed lot unable to move. Now that sounds healthy. :dunce:
Fully aware how food gets to my table......Never once in my 42 yrs have I been hungry enough to walk into the bush and kill something to eat......That argument doesn't wash its time to own up to what it is.......sport killing nothing more nothing less....not saying I have a problem with it in general just the hogwash trying to make it something it isn't.
We can put a spin on anything to make it justified hell our leaders are experts at it...it has nothing to do with what I would rather see or hear about mate...just me calling the kettle black cause it is black you get my drift?

So you'll eat it, just not accept the responsibilities for everything that happens prior to that?
(In my 54 years) I subsist almost exclusively on wild game & fish products I harvest myself, and I happen to think that may be the most enviornmentally responsible way to live. A huge plus is knowing that there are zero growth hormones/vitamins/whoknowswhatthefuckall in the meat that I consume is a very comforting fact - not to mention that it just plain tastes better.
But that's just me - I won't hack on your way of life or recreational choices - please have the consideration to do the same.

Dude you do whatever you want ...read my post again......You guys are so defensive LOL. Just don't try and sugar coat it by saying its food like you need it.....and its real easy to be perfect in whatever you do online.

What if they prefer it? Regardless they eat what they kill. You make it sound like they're killing just for a wallmount

I much prefer wild game - are you aware in addition to all the chemical/hormonal "enhancers" that are used in processed meat, it is also approx 30% pure FAT !! While my moose averages 4.6%. You do the math.
Commercially processed beef & pork tastes like wax and I for one refuse to eat it.

For those of you who slept through World History 101 here is a condensed version. Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were:

1. The invention of beer, and
2. The invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer, and the beer to the man.

These facts formed the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:

1. Liberals (Democrats as they are known today)
2. Conservatives. (Republicans)

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men.

Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy and group hugs, the evolution of the Hollywood actor, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide all the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years, Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most liberal women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals.

Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, firemen, lumberjacks, construction workers, bankers, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, airline pilots, Marines, and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America. They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for no thing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history.

All you big hunters walk into the bush naked and come out with a deer....then I'll call you a hunter....no sport in killing an animal with a weapon.....Nope wrestle it to the ground and snap its neck.....If you can do that I'll call you a hunter Until then you are just bullies killing for fun
So throughout history, all the native hunters who used spears and bows were just bullies killing for fun, right?

I like the idea of bow hunting, but a wooden bow, not some silly fanged modern contraption with pulleys and wheels. The instant hunting stops being about food though and i'd happily see a bullet go through the hunters head, what's the difference. That's right human life means everything and animals life means nothing. We're also animals..

Bow's are cool though :)

Exactly my thoughts... I have no compassion for trophy hunters and think the animal kingdom would be a much better place without them... and in all honesty, I care a thousand times more for most wild animals than I do for your average human, I've lost most hope in the human species as a whole.

I use a 1960's Shaekespeare recurve bow, similar to the on in this pictures, but I think this one is much much newer.

That all stands up pretty good if we never evolved past our "hunter Gatherer" stage....But some of us did. Oh and all during the hunter gather stage we never had guns or gunpowder.......Yeah I never eat processed meat....I buy mine from local farmers markets....Even make my own lunchmeats by cooking the meat and slicing it myslef whhoooooaaa rocket science LOL....Out of all of the meat I have ever eaten out of a grocery store while growing up the only piece that kinda tasted like wax was cooked by an old English woman who never could cook in the first place.....Maybe try a new store.........And as far as being a conservative or a Liberal I take both as an insult of the highest order sir and I'm truly offended....I am neither thank you very much.....Next you will be calling me a lawyer or Bank CEO or some shit LOL. You are all missing the point. Kill till your heart is content.....Shoot whatever moves if it is still moving shoot it again. I understand the enjoyment you get from it...But at least have the balls to admit you enjoy the kill just as much as the rest of what hunting is today. Instead of laying out all this bullshit that you guys feed to PITA....Oh and the BS about Chemicals and growth hormones is blown way out of proportion by who? You guessed your pal and mine PITA. I still say you can't call yourself a hunter until you can go into the bush with no weapons and walk out with a kill.

Try walking into a 7/11 without your credit card or cash - can you leave with your lips & assholes ball park frank?
thankfully, no there aren't any 7/11's in my town.....I do enjoy a good hot dog though...And that is simply misinformation that you are spreading....the lips and the assholes actually don't make it into human food....Dog and cat food ....yes but not human food...I can go anytime I want and watch the hot dogs being made at a small sausage factory right here in Brantford Ontario and so can you sir....I can assure you no lips and no assholes,,,no hooves ,,no teeth, or hair....just meat.....some are a blend of beef and pork some are all pork some are all beef.....Me I prefer the all beef....All have a blend of spice that is Pepper, powdered onion, garlic, salt.

I've tried deer, moose and bear meat on several occasions...The only time I really liked it is when it was made into a saummer sausage....Yes I have several friends into the hunting thing....they shun me every hunting season LOL

Just stumbled onto this thread... I'm not a hunter (unless you count fishing), but I have to say that I think it's odd that any meat eater would bitch about hunting (for food). If someone's concerned about animals, I'd think they'd be more pissed about how the animals are treated when they're raised to supply the meat to grocery stores, restaurants, etc.. It seems like a miserable existence for them. The animals in the wild get to at least live out a normal life before they're killed.

And, of course, when you raise animals all crammed together, with almost no exercise, fed things they're not meant to eat, you get unhealthy animals... and unhealthy meat. Another good reason for people to want to eat wild animals instead.
