Decreased yield during cold temps.

My grow area does not get very warm apparently. (First year at this so first time I've had to deal with it.) Due to it being an old drafty house, there is not much I can do to correct my heating issue without some fairly major renovation. I have accepted that.

My temps are 56 lights off and about 68 lights on. Since I run LED, I know that it should realistically be 15 degrees higher with lights on. I expect to see decreased yield (though I wouldn't likely recognize the decrease).

Is there a way to compensate for that lost yield without a heating solution? If you veg longer you get bigger plants but if you flower too long the thc starts to convert. Will the flowering process be "stunted" so I can flower longer without losing thc?

I'm relatively new but - wow, without adding heating I don't see what there is to do. If temps are your problem, you'd have to fix temps.

This is Monday-morning quarterbacking, but HID lights create heat, do their job well at a lower ambient heat on top of that, and are priced at entry level comparably to the cheap blurples.

That's supremely unhelpful given where you are now, I realize.

56-68f under LED will effect yield & growth speed, your night and day temps are pretty low, your either going to need an insulated cab, a heater or lights on at night hours with an added 150w hps ect.

Basically you either put more power in the flowering room or you heavily isolate it from the outside.

When I use my 600w HPS my day time temps are at 83ish. Then my night temps hit 55ish. I am now only using only the LED because I was more worried about the temperature swings causing hermies.

Adding a heater could be done but it seems counter productive to electric bill. In the future I am going to attempt to make some changes to combat winter temps.

I am fine considering this a learning experience. It's only for personal use and there's more to come. I feel like I must still see SOME sort of yield. Just not sure how much less it will be.

Using lights at night will allow your lights off temps to not drop as low, but your lights on temp will be even colder. From here, just add more light instead of a heater.

My lights are on at night to try to offset the cold. That is why my temos land where they are. Otherwise lights off would be much colder.
