Ive heard some great things about Connoisseur Genetics
got a freebie of the Girl Scout Haze cookies and made some inquires and got some positive feedback. I think that would have been a better choice then the CC GSC..anywho I tried CC GSC (4freebie regs) 1 ended up female ..it was a tall lanky piece of crap..very little bud sites..but blew up in flower..its was close to getting the cut but thought fuck it i made it this far lets see what happens...the bud was mediocre and as already stated not a very potent buzz, I had a full pack a gave to a friend after that experience.. i figured I would waste my time totally on them (they were fems also) looking for something close to the clone.

I have yet to pop my freebie CG GSHC but plan to..eventually.

To get back to the thread Blue Dream is a good plant to start off with. HSO have a pretty on point lineup..ive also got freebies of Chocolate Mint , Bubbas Gift & Lemon garlic og to pop aswell.

Definitely a bigger fan of sativas. I can "couch lock" myself pretty easy with either a large meal, or Jack Daniels...or a combination of them. The wife likes the uppity high also. She does her best cleaning.
If you want to order state side I'd browse thedankteam for some NorStar, Dynasty, or (cue the haters) Gage Green lol...also homegrown natural wonders. All have top caliber sativa action that'd please even the pickiest pallette.

Well, I have a closet that I was gonna set up in. About 2 feet deep, by 7ft long, a little of that is stairs, by 8 feet tall. It's in our bedroom, so was planning on having it sealed and odor controlled with a home made charcoal canister. Final dimensions would probably be 4ft wide, by 2ft deep, by 8ft tall... I plan on using fluxing or SCROG, so the height won't matter. Germ will be paper towel method, then into some Fox farms light warrior till sprouts and gets going. I was going to use a t8 florescent light when it is a baby plant in the corner under the stairs, possibly with some extra CFLs. After that it would go into a mixture of light warrior and ocean forest in a 5 gallon smart pot. Probably under a 1000w hid light. I have a portable ac unit if heat is an issue, it should have great air flow regardless.
Nutes, I'm undecided on. I'm leaning towards advanced nutrients right now.
That Fox Farm soil is probably going to be too strong for seedlings you can have serious problems some seedlings may even die you don't need any nutrients to germinate they do sell seedling mixes that are very lightly nuted. I never tried it myself with that Fox Farm soil but I really don't think its a good idea I seen someone fuck up using either Fox Farm or Roots Organic for seedlings can't remember exactly.

I also hate the paper towel method but to each their own,

Tough choice on what to start first though they all got potential one can have a bad experience the other a great all depends on the pheno you get really none of them lines will breed true even the so called true breeding lines Skunk #1 and Northern Lights still have variation that's why we have clone only lines cause they don't breed true even Cheese clone only was from Skunk #1.

But with good genetics most every plant is good to the average smoker it's when you been growing years that you become a pot snob then after a while start smoking mostly hash cause I don't care how good the weed is the hash is better I'm not big on the BHO though.

Ive actually got a triangle kush cookies going right now, it has no smell whatsoever but damn she's frosty! Looking forward to trying her out!
@bluntmassa1 cheers for helping Don out with the soil too, I'm not in US so don't know much about the soils you guys get so it's good of you to help out with the info :) can you mix the fox farms stuff with some organic compost to 'water' it down a bit and make it less potent for seedlings?

I heard the FF was to hot for seeds, but the light warrior was good shit for babies, and mixed would be OK for plants + nutes...... I'm still new, and definitely learning so input I'd greatly appreciated.

And what do you think, soil right off the bat?
I was a little concerned about losing some of the micro roots. But seen so many doing it didn't think paper towels were an issue.

i never pop beans into coco/soil.

every time i ever did ...damping off ...drama ...lost seedlings.

personally, i use a rooter of some kind. always !

let the seedling do its thing and build up some size under a cfl.
then i put the seedling into a small container.

and i dont presoak shit @ low ph.
fresh water, liitle myco, that's it for the rockwool cubes.

Serious seeds / AK-47 mostly sativa.
Older but proven strain. Excellent genetics and EXTREMELY stable. Been winning Cups for 2 decades for good reason. Good yeilder.
( actually just about all Serious seeds are as noted and stable)

Serious Seeds / Kali Mist %90 Sativa VERY up high. Moderate to high yeild.

Gth haze /RD well u know the story ! Never had one hermie yet.

Nl#5 X Haze / Sensi seed bank.
Top genetics. Little slower but 11 weeks is my usual for her.

Just some of my suggestions....
Good luck with your grow.. Anything I can do to help bro.
New to RUI but not the game!

I looked into who had the best genetics for my choices... I didn't mind spending an extra few dollars for a better seed. I hope it pays off, last thing I want is a hermie
All plants run the risk of herming out, ALL plants. Some can withstand a lot of stress and never hermie but some you can simply fart to close to them and they'll hermie out. Mostly though, hermies come from environmental factors; light during dark cycle, over/under fertilization, physical trama, etc... There are a few strains out now that are more sensitive to stress like agent orange, GSC, dj shorts blueberry, and certain sativa lines like thai, so any crosses with these strains will be hermie prone but mainly it comes down to control of environmental factors. So don't trip up on the hermie fears.

Light warrior is cool but I had to use chemical fertilizers because no nutes in light warrior, or not enough. I've also used FFOF straight with seeds and some were cool some struggled so I would mix half and half light warrior and FFOF for seedlings.

I use that mix of LWarrior / FFOF.
Also coco which I love, but for a beginner new to growing ffof mix definitely works great.

No worries mate :)
Unfortunately it's both, the breeder is a wanker and the strain is prone to hermie, the original cut was supposedly from a seed found in some buds! May still be worth growing out but just has to be watched very closely. Other breeders with good beans of GSC are SinCity and Dr Greenthumb, there are others too but can't remember sorry.
You won't be dissapointed by the green crack, she's a solid strain! The SSH from Mr Nice is the one to get if you choose to go with it, you can pick some up pretty cheap on their auction site, but they are regs not fems.
The other strains you have would be good to man so it's a hard choice lol
without straying too far from the thread have you grown out the greenhouse SSH too mo? if you have what do you think of it compared to mr nices? ive got it in regular form from before arjan went all girlie, also got the nevils haze from greenhouse in reg, btw theres only 1 pack of mr nice SSH left in stock at the tude...

dead right man, sometimes i get 0% hermies one year then 25% hermies the next year from same batch of seeds with no real reason i can see why?...just the gods of grow playing with us maybe?...aint funny for us earthlings but....

Yeah man, the greenhouse SSH isn't too bad but compared to Mr Nice's original, it's second class. The only greenhouse strain I've found worth growing again was the super lemon haze :)

Got them in today. Safe and sound with no green tape. Kinda surprised me, they didn't get scanned until this morning going into the mail box. I only have a few 23w cfl, and nothing setup yet. So... yea, I'm slacking already. Had an awesome weekend though. I'm going to spend next weekend getting my space cleared out and ready to go. I figure I'll hit the nursery this weekend also and get my nutes, soil, pots, ect. Just about go time
