Dakini Kush 4x2 Grow Journal

Hey everyone. After a previous false-start I spent the past 10 days or so researching and purchasing what I need for a small budget grow.

*Tent is Mars Hydro 4x2x6
*light is Mars Hydro sp250
*strain is Dakini Kush from Centennial
*soils are black gold seedling then Happy Frog mixed with perlite
*will be using Fox Farm trio for nutes
*space heater and humidifier connected to ink bird
*two clip on 6 inch oscillating fans
*vivosun 4” inline fan with carbon filter

The person I ordered the seeds from suggested I germinate them in soil. So yesterday I wet some of the black gold seedling mix with tap water. The water’s pH was adjusted to just under 6. Seeds were placed in 4 paper starter cups and placed in the tent last night. Temperature is right around 78/80 F with humidity levels right around 75%. Hopefully I will see them pop soon. Thanks. I set up the two inkbirds today. I set the humidity at 75% with a 5% differential, so it will stay between 70-80%. Will drop that after they get started. I set the temperature at 78 F with a 4 degree differential, so temps will stay between 74-82 F.

These inkbirds are fantastic. I need to set up some air intake. After germination I will just open up one of the bottom windows and blow a fan in initially. I am planning to run the lights 24/7 during veg.2B8FABEB-402D-4DA5-85C8-3650D4DF3186.jpeg562453A8-CA6D-454C-ABD0-A8F2A28232CC.jpeg

im flip flopping on the lighting period. i think im gonna start off at 24/7 because the high temps outside this weekend will be 48. i don’t want to get a 2nd heater and inkbird to adjust temps at lights out. once temps here come up a bit, i may cut it back to 20/4 then 18/6.

i will drop the humidity 5% now that lights are coming on. then next week i will drop it some more.

i can’t wait to get home and see them.

set up the filter today. got it set up to run on a timer but not using it yet. trying maintain higher humidity and this fan drops it to 36 real quick.

I designed and 3D printed an adapter for my fan. I still have to 3D print the base of the adapter. I can run some 3 inch ducting from the fan into the tent. So in the summer I can run the fan in the air conditioned house and cool the tent.

oh this’ll be a gorilla glue and duct tape job. too much free time today. i really just want to get home and see the babies. that duct tape you see is just holding the fan level. for some reason it points straight down without it

Im gonna be adding pictures almost daily, as well as random notes about what I am doing.

Feel free to jump in and comment if anything I am doing is off or if something doesn’t look right. This is my first grow in 15 years, second overall...the first one hardly counts because I put very little thought into that one.

Notes for today:
All 5 seeds have popped, with one in particular leading the race towards the light. Yesterday I dropped the target humidity level to 73, with a 4% differential. Today I will drop that another 2%, and do that daily until I reach 60%. I’ve watered very little until today. When I first started the seeds, I believe I soaked the soil a little too much and it lasted nearly until the lights went on yesterday. Gave a couple sprays of mist on the soil last night, another this morning, and again when I got home. I adjusted pH to 6.
