yes we are reducing prices on CXB3590, not related to bin changes, just because you guys are helping us moving quantity and the benefit we are passing on to you, again appreciate the support
Cheers

Hi,
Really confused on growmau5's video of the dimming of the Pairuis.
Can someone tell me exactly what potentiometer i need and if i need to wire the resistor?
Also, which cable out of the Pairui i need to hook up to which pin of the potentiometer.
Thanks.
EDIT: Also read on this forum that leaving the dimmer leads open gives you extra 10%??

In that case, is it best to wire up a switch to connect/disconnect the dimmer? Would there be any problems to using a switch like this while its on?

I'm looking at pots here and there seems to be so many

This is an amazing thread!!! I'm still catching up...but one quick question:
Does anyone know how long it takes for Cutter to ship to the United States?
I'd really like to test the waters with growmau5's kit

I have been lurking and read and watching videos about COB lighting DIY and would like to know if there has been an established design for a 3x3 Gorilla Shorty tent. I am currently running a Blackdog BD450U and while I am happy with it, I feel I can do better.

I have been looking at the mau5-V kit with 3000K BD and diffusers. I would like to know if the 3000K BD are worth the slight cost increase. As for the fixture design, I have seen the 5 cob X layout, but growmau was talking about a pentagon. Has this come to fruition or is the X the desired layout? Thanks for any and all help. I am looking forward to putting together my own light and bumping up my yields.

Pentagon would be much better. Easily built. One larger pentagon for outside edge and a smaller one for inside edge.

Thanks for the reply. When you say one in and one out is that for a 5 cob kit? 3 on the outside and 2 on the inside? My price point is close to maxed at 5 cobs.

No I mean a pentagon shape. Use 1 larger L aluminum for outside support and one inside for inside support. Savvy?

i would just do the x layout and make the 4 corners about 6 inches off the tent walls and the 5th light in the center.should cover that space awesome.

I get it. I was under-thinking by not thinking about the difference in outside and inside metal lengths. My CRS has been acting up lately and I get scrambled from time to time. Definitely not as straightforward as the X design, but easily achieved with proper measurements.
Has this shape been done before, or am I the first to be asking about it? I am very handy and can do this, but I have no meters to determine optimal placement of the COBs, though I do have a light meter app on my phone that measures lux.
Still curious about the 3000K BD vs 3500k CD. Would I be wasting money on the BD over the CD? I am still learning about all this stuff and my brain is getting scrambled trying to all of this out. This tent is for flowering only, if that makes any difference.

You would be the first to do this design that I've seen. Also, I use 6 3500 & 2 4000 with great results. Never tried 3000k.

Getting along pretty well with mine! Heat is a huge problem for me in the summer, even with the LEDs, so I'm just vegging and practicing my first scrog (2nd grow).

I'm not too sure how much light is suggested for vegging but im dimmed all the way to 70watts from the wall. I plan to rebuild my light soon with a sealed design so I can move air across it and out like a typical HID. I was a bit naive when it came to leds and heat generation, I think a cooled light separate from the tent environment will help greatly.
