Curing temperatures.

I've read here that temps for curing should be anywhere from 50-75 with 50% RH. My AC is set at 75, which is spot-on for my plants. I'm just looking for any ideas people have used for keeping their curing buds cooler than room temp. Other than the fridge. Only thing i've thought of is putting my drybox (a roughneck 10gal) inside another full of ice. I dunno how long the ice would last... I'll have to try it. Then again, that might get it TOO cold. ay yi yi... who the hell knows ? Many thanks to anyone who can help on this. I'm working on a fully automated drybox. RH will be fully controlled and temps will be monitored in my first version - i'm working on auto temp control ideas too. I might sell them once i finish the design... something like $20-30. It'll be pimpin. Im a nerd.

I don't want to be a douche or invalidate anyone, because everyone has their own way of doing it, and there are more right ways than wrong. I will simply share my source of info with y'all: http://www.a1b2c3.com/drugs/mj009.htm

it says, for drying: Conditions should remain constantly somewhere within the following ranges, temperature should be between 65-75 degrees F, relative humidity should be between 45%-55%.

and for curing: Store the containers in a dark area where the temperature is between 50-65 degrees and the humidity is between 40%-60%.

Regardless of all that, based on everything i've read, i want my buds to be cooler than 75degrees (room temp) while curing. fuck, even 70 would make me happy. I just can't seem to find a clever, realistic way of pulling it off. Unless the ice water idea turns out better than i'm assuming it will.

Oh yeah: i live in a dinky apartment, and my roomtemp doesn't vary at all. It's always 75 everywhere in the apartment.

just discovered rubbermaid blue ice. supposedly stays frozen longer than regular ice. it's cheap enough at $2 each. I'd probably have to get 4 tho. I'll post my findings as soon as i have some. I guess i might start a new thread on my drybox project soon after that. just ordered supplies for it - $60 but that sets me up to be able to make 3 of them.

FUCK YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just discovered "Peltier Modules." Basically, u mount it, give it juice, and it pulls heat out of one area and moves it to another. They'll run me about $30 per unit so it might just be an "upgrade" if i do start selling my dryboxes. KICKASS thing is, it works both ways: If it's too COLD in the drybox, run the voltage the opposite way, and u got a fucking heater !!!!!!!!!!!! This shit is PERFECT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok i'll shut the fuck up now.

I just cure mine at whatever temperature the house happens to be. In late Autumn it is probably within the ideal range quoted, as it happens.

Peltier effect cooling is INCREDIBLY inefficient - these modules could prove expensive to run.

Yeah i've read about their efficiency - like 5% or something. But i'm still excited for two reasons: electronics is my 2nd passion (after cannabis), so this project in particular is going to have as much money thrown at it as need be. And two, it's a doohickey i have not played with. I have to at LEAST play with one ! Really i see it being a 50/50 whether or not it'll do the job reasonably. Reason being is that i don't need it to pull the temps down 50 degrees fahrenheit, only 5-10. I know i'm going overboard with this - but it's kinda like a pet project or something.

I don't watch my temps when drying, just hang them in my grow area in dark part of course. I've dried and cured in 100+ degree, no problems.
