It looks crazy, but it's actualy quite easy as long as you have good oxgenation, and keep an eye on the PH and EC...the the water stays really stable.
Keeping the temperature of the water around 18-19c is critical, or you will get funky stuff growing.

It's what I would call a 'sterile grow'... theres nothing organic about this1

I'm no expert though, it's only my second deep water culture grow.... so don't take my word for it.

Getting bigger, vital statistics are within range...lookin ok so far I THINK...

The additional basic aquarium filter, and the sponge cap on the water chiller pump filter are really paying off in terms of keeping the water more clear this time around ...

The water chiller inlet pump is the apperatus you can see in the foreground..the brown mass you see is actually a black microphone style pre filter and its doing great, and easy to remove and wash off. The black part immediatley to the left, attached to the white hose is an inline filter, and its almost totally clean.

The aquarium filter as well as the chiller return hose also act as little waterfalls to suppliment oxygenation along with the standard air-stones.

The description for these plants says:

Highly resinous yields of 500g/m2 are typical. The smell during bloom is very pleasant but not overwhelmingly pungent, with notes of sour fruit and earthy aromas. She produces a beautiful combination of spicy, blackcurrant, sweet dark chocolate and coffee scents.



They totally stink, they are not blooming yet, and there's only two of them!!

I'm still on an 18/6 photperiod, one plant seems to be several weeks behind the other, where as the other one has decided 'fuck this' I'm gonna start flowering...

I was planning to flip them to 12/12 in the next week or 2 anyway, and do a rez change and flip from grow fert to bloom fert...but I don't like that they are a bit uneven.

Vital signs are all reasonably ok...it's a bit wierd.

Both plants have really exploded in size last week or so though, after some sort of dormant phase.

One thing I have learned on this my second DWC grow, is that plastic net pots are disposable items... the larger roots will get fat and just bust through them and snap them once the plants get big.

So a busy day today... I asked on the Hydro section about one plant just 'self flowering' on a 18/6 light schedule whilst the other was just vegging along...

Someone suggested that that one is an Auto seed that got mixed up with the a photo seed batch, and I can't think of any better explanation.

So Today was a full rez drain and refill with bloom A&B rather than Veg A&B.

Need to put them onto a 12/12 light cycle now but im undecided when to start it... I'm thinking 8pm - 8am 'daytime'

I can't think of any better explanation though.... Not a huge issue though as I was planning on flippin to 12/12 soon anyway, and in fact, I just have....

I just hope the other plant can catch up as the 'auto' is well into flowering now...we will see I guess!

Seeds were bought direct from dutch passion though, not re-packaged or anything so it's a bit weird..... although that said, it was a limited run of seeds with super sativa club that are now sold out, so maybe that has more to do with it than anything...

AND the seed packaging was SSC branded rather than dutch passions normal packaging , so we will see...

Ok so day one, or 2? of 12/12...

Things are looking good aside from humidity is rising ... I really need to get organised and defolitate some of the lower sun leafs, as theres a lot of bio-mass there...and its restricting air flow...it's such a boring job to do though...

...and I hate chopping off leafs if they are healthy, but needs must.

The flowering plant is now really flowering so I hope the other can catch up....they almost look like 2 different strains, the one on the left seems to have more indica dominant leafs...

Looking good, that one is really developed.

Thanks, it's fucking annoying though as the other plant is weeks behind it in terms of flower development, so It's going to be a bit of a rollercoaster but I'll cross that bridge when i come to it... I might have to harvest one and keep the other longer, but as they both are in the same bucket....it's..problematic!

I like a challenge though.

Wow! I didn't realize they was in the same bucket. What a challenge, I need to get my popcorn. This just got even better!

Yeah, the roots are entwined so there's no going back really... I'm just going to have to ride it out somehow... lol!

Does anyone else hate defolitaing good leafs?.... I mean this shit is pure, but I have to kill it, but it's so beutiful
