crumble or shatter? which do you prefer...

i like wax crumble, but i hear that shatter is more pure and stronger. what do people think?

I guess most people call it shatter...But I feel that real shatter is so stiff, it doesn't stick to the dabber properly.

funny you say that bc from what i know the more rigid the shatter the better. like when i buy shatter and it's actually not so brittle it's a lot less than if i pay for stuff that's like glass.

i usually def think shatter tastes better than crumble on average. i wonder if that's bc of the process or the strain? usually cant buy the same strain as in both concentrates to see what is better.

I keep trying to post a picture on this thing of some Amber shatter I made. It is probably the pull snap stuff judging by the stiffness and sticky consistency that depends on where on the oil slick pad I pick it up from. honestly it's gorgeous by my standards, very clear grade a Amber color. I've tried a bit of crumble that was BHO and kief sorta stirred together to bind it. Had an earwax consistency that was hard. Got me lit, that was the goal but overall an experiment that turned out ok.

@GreenStick85 i saw something facebook that people were using flat irons for hair to make wax. then people were using large industrial heat presses to make it and actually doing well in competition. seems pretty cool considering there's no solvent.

Yes Rosin Tech. It is just about the similar consistency to Amber shatter but the yields are minuscule (at least from my experiments they were). There is a thread on here about it and having tried a bit of it myself I thought it was cool but there's a bit of work involved. Plus if you get the iron too hot, you risk vaporizing the whole thing for one. Two it begins decarboxylation so vaporizing becomes obsolete at a point. I did try a pin head sized hit of the stuff and it was a very clean high, something I could notice but not sure I could invoke such a process daily or often. Find it best enjoyed with folks who want to try something new and don't mind experimental processes.

i used to make wax with a glass extraction tube but it's too cheap now in socal to bother making it unless you wanna make a grip and resell. sometimes ill buy a few diff strains of crumble and mix them together.

the best yield i got from a run was like over 30 grams of wax from a bubba kush trim.

That was how I made Amber shatter only I missed a process that ended up salvaging the best of my hash as I could. I ran BHO, SCRAPED about a gram if that of the stuff and hoped for the best. Then read about the winterizing with ethanol or ISO works fine. You're supposed to spray it in a dish that has enough to cover the surface, helps if the alcohol is somewhat warm for butane evap. But I let my stuff get in a small mason jar of everclear, put it in thee freezer after it had dissolved then strained it out. I then evaporated the mix using a travel iron that was very good on not letting the mixture get too hot although that's what makes the shatter shatter. You heat it up enough and that changes the molecular structure to become glass-like. Mine is a combination of both where the thinnest is like flick-glue. You lose it so fast so it is best your tool is somewhat warm to keep that from happening.

do you make personal use or for other patients too? i used to make it and then my buddies would want some and i felt bad profiting but then my labor would be a loss. i just stopped, it's pretty fun doing it especially if the product turns out really blonde.

If it dont shatter, it doesnt matter. A 0.4 dab of wax has already givin me a pneumothorax 3 years ago which does not feel good at all!

im a bit of a crazy nut, wanted to watch the entire movie stoned at the movie theatre with some friends and ended up at the hospital LOL! He didnt have his dabber so we were just dunking wax balls strait into the 18mm nail from his 2 ft rig in his suburban, i hit it and cleared the entire fucking thing, held it in and i coughed on the exhale and thats all it took! I got unlucky i guess,smoking stoges for 10 years prior probably didnt help at all either. I can dunk fat ass .5
slabs of shatter in my rig and just chill for a few hours with no effect on the lungs, only a tickle in the throat. No homo

i can barely get high anymore. smoking allows me to dial down the adhd.

switch back and forth every 2 months from weed to bho then back to weed, seems to keep me stoned. i was also born with adhd. it never went away untill i became a heavy MJ user somewhere along 10-15 years ago. i can stop weed today for a month and never feel that adhd rush again. BHO is the worst tho,if i keep doing it without switching it up, then eventually the only thing that happens to me is a body rush sometimes to the point of anxiety.

i cant stand smoking herb anymore. the heat is too much. i sure miss the smell of herb and the 2nd hand smoke though ha. sometimes my co workers will want me to smoke a bowl when they buy new herb, but then i wanna clean my piece and crush some ice and it just takes too long.

is 808 mean youre in hawaii?

@BDOGKush ya i agree. ive snapped so many dabs into the carpet with shatter. also i go through it so much faster dabbing larger amounts.

Yes sir, hawaii. I know what you mean,my friends think im excessive with cleaning my pieces. every day before i smoke they get a 91% iso bath,been a routine for years. i cant smoke old resin,old joints,roaches,uncleaned bowl ect. Smells nasty. But there is no fucking way i will ever give up smoking as long as grape ape/purple urkel/fruity pebbles/chemdog/og kush is around then there is literally nothing that can replace those taste for me, especially the purple buds(not just the color, they actually taste like fruits and grapes n shit)

maybe you still have good herb out there that's affordable. to get top shelf it's still over 3bills unless youre buying a qp. i get an 8er of crumble and call it a day.

There isnt shitty weed here unless kids are growing it. Most of the good shit is actually from california and hawaii hobbyist growers and nobody is gonna risk getting caught shipping crappy weed overseas lol. Thats why its always good shit. Iv met alot of people from the east side of the united states and canada that has never tried any type of weed that actually tasted sweet with strong fruity tones. Grade A zips go for 280-320 mostly because of middle man profit
