Cree cxa3070 bin z2

Hey guys, First let me give props to the DIY LED threads here, especially you SupraSPL as I've read most of your posts.. I,m looking at these Cree cxa3070 on Digikey and I believe they are bin z2, CXA3070-0000-000N00Z230F-ND, is that correct. Can anyone tell me how these would compare to an AB or Z4 bin. At 38 usd a piece sounds reasonable. A member here has some for sale, not sure what bin, he's asking 70 usd a piece with shipping from AUS, not in my budget.. If I understand correctly I can run them with a specific driver and that will increase the Bin? Any Ideas on driver to use, I'd like to get 30+ watts out of them, I'm looking to place a Cob per sqft over a 12 sq ft area(2'x6'). I'm thinking of using CPU cooler with fan to attach COb's to. Thanks in advance.

Your on the right path MD2.

Supra had a sheet floating around somewhere that compared the Z2, Z4, AB bin versions but I seemed to have lost it.

Have you considered the Vero lineup?

Well, I haven't but my mind is not set on anything particular. I'd really like to get away from my systems I use now. Currently I'm running 600 HPS over a 4x4 area with 4 plants in dirt and Smart pots with decent results, usually pull close to a 1/2 p of fat nugs( I don't count popcorn), I'd like to do 2x6 areas elevated(easier to tend to plants as my back is shot) with a plant per sqft with 1 COB directly over plant. I'm probably gonna run aeroponics. I am open to any design/technical ideas you or anybody else may have. I am no electrical engineer so I was thinking of using one driver per light to uncomplicated things. Thanks

I found the data sheet in another thread but have since lost it. Sounds like the Vero's are a much cheaper option and comparable to the Cree Z2 BIN. Looked like at 1.4 amps the V29 would put me at 50 watts a light, to much per sqft.? If I wanted to run 6 V29's@ 1.4 off of 1 driver would it have to be 1.4a with 300 watts, is that right? I'd have to run these in series, is there a nice schematic somewhere that I've missed.

Shoot for 30-33 watts per sq. ft.
If you are set on a cob per foot, then check out the specs for the Vero 18.
31 watts @1.050 amps.
This driver will run 6 of them; Mean Well HLG-185H-C1050A.
If you want to drive them harder, then you can only drive 4 @1.4 amps with the Mean Well HLG series.

HEATSINKS may be your biggest expense.
If you go with the V29s, Arctic 11 cpu coolers may be your best choice.

Not sure if this is exactly what some folks use;http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186070&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-CPU+Fans+&+Heatsinks-_-N82E16835186070&gclid=CjwKEAiA_4emBRCxi8_f2cWWjFcSJAB-v1qyjnUpYarpjbjr1IQrkWBUhiXPw2rDlyMZhqwHJoaz9RoCeArw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
