Sounds like you need a bigger clientele range. Some rather a whole zip for 100 then a 1/2 zip of indoor for the same..
My clientele is medical shops. Not serving people ounces and halfs. They get only high quality deps and indoor from me.

Let's remember location has a lot to do with availablility and price. Cali is gonna have more outdoor then Oregon or Washington. Therefore some lower price options.

The ultimate goal of legalisation is not the profits people have been making in this transitional period.
But to allow people to grow and access for personal use on their own property in the privacy of their homes. At virtually no cost.
The truth is if you have even average soil, if you put a seed in there and water it when it shows it is thirsty, you are going to grow acceptable weed.
We all like tomatoes, almost none of us would be willing to pay for tomatoes grown under paid-for lighting in hydro absolutely requiring fertilisers.
Instead, we have it farmed outdoors and in season, and import, as well as keep some in cold storage for use throughout the year.
Why should weed be different. I think all this crossing and artificial horticulture would, in the long run, make weed less able to survive and thrive in nature or the garden.
Actually, those ARE the tomatoes you buy at the grocery store.

Labour costs are low enough that we still get fresh grown produce over here. The daily wage for a farm worker is less than $10 as mandated by the government. It is a disgrace.

At 600 a lb that is far from trash. More like gold. But let's see what you're thinking 600 gets you a lb of.
Believe it or not, the outdoor that's going for $600-800/lb seemed pretty good to me. I mean, of course it's not AAA quality, but for the price it's damn good. The guys up in NorCal just grow so damn much that they're able to get rid of it for way cheaper. Unless you have a connection in a dispensary, or run a dispensary yourself, you pretty much need to grow/sell bulk. In fact, I know of many places that push outdoor as indoor in the shops. I grew some Blue Dream once, back when I was able to get $600/qp and $2k/lb. I found out they were selling it for $50/8th and I was livid. I told the guy if I wanted it sold for $50/8th I would have charged him more and the reason I cut him a deal was for the sake of the patients. The price was down to $35/8th the next day.

The mentality for a lot of these shops is why spend $2k+/lb for AAA indoor when they can spend $1k/lb for stuff they can claim is indoor? If they both sell for the same price, why spend the extra 1k on quality is their train of thought.

I had my own little niche market because of this. All of my patients came to me because I was providing $35/8ths and $200/oz at the time, shops were selling ounces for a minimum of $300 at the time. Not only was a lot of my stuff grown better, but it was cheaper too. But a lot of growers in California were in a similar dilemma that I was. Their stuff wasn't "crappy" enough for the dispensaries to buy. My landlord at the time grew massive amounts of outdoor, the only reason he was able to get rid of it was because he had a connect in a dispensary that would always buy up his stuff.

That's why I'm glad I'm in Arizona right now, the markets are still establishing themselves out here and there's a lot of room for people to start up. Out here, shops are still selling their stuff for $50-55/8th and it's mediocre for the price. A lot of it makes me feel like crap after I smoke it and I know for a fact that a handful of warehouse grows in the state use pesticides at an alarming rate. I know of one dispensary that grows "all organic" but they fucking use pesticides. Are you kidding me??

I know nothing in Cali.

Oregon just dropped a new list of approved pesticides for cannibas early march 2017.

72 hour cash on delivery.

Not gonna go into taxes.

We've had a discussion in this country for a long time, centuries, about legislating morality.

The questions about whether to legislate ethics are new, because it used to be a given that ethical business practices were the only way to go.

Why did that change and is it a change for the better?

I personally don't think so.

What do you think?

Also you have the Vietnamese stealing power with special boards they have made up and they all use. So they have no power costs at all. Somebody was recently complaining about them in I think Washington, might have been CO. Anyway they do sell to dispensaries for $600. He said they do big outdoor grows too. Vietnamese are a serious threat to growers who actually pay for power or stick to outdoor plant number limits. Might have been on this thread, idk. Not gonna look through it to see. If so, excuse me for the old news.
I talked to an older guy who used to grow in Caqli and then had a comml set up in Denver. He said the big players in Denver are Russian who export out of state. The other biggies are Vietnamese who sell to Mexican Americans and other Latinos.

A part of the problem is the fact that there are no universal rules or laws, in this regard.
This creates places where it can be grown and other places with demand who are willing to pay a premium for the risk in acquiring some to a 3rd party. Then the places where it is created legally become a nuisance. Amsterdam is a good example, people go there, smoke weed, and behave like arseholes, because they are far from home, and none knows them anyway. The locals don't enjoy that as much as you would think. If it was available to the same extent at home, it just wouldn't happen. But as long as this risk/no-risk gradient exists, people will exploit it, and think you the fool for not doing the same. The moral man's dilemma.
