coco in airpots in flood n drain, has anyone givin it go? successfully?:leaf:
I have and hated it.. Reason being? The air pots! I encountered a gnat problem which I always easily take care of with predatory nematodes however with air pots you cant get rid of bugs because of all the holes the bugs will just them like an open door making getting rid of the bugs really hard!

Having found that Coco Coir is not at all the same as Coco Pith, I am now stuffing the gap between the medium and the fabric pot with lots of Coir fiber.
This seems to work well, keeping stuff on top from falling, and generally helping the medium stay in contact with the fabric.

As for damage to the root system during moving, this is a hazard of soft pots, hard pots do not allow nearly as much air, but they do a great job of protecting the root system from harm.
Be gentle while moving soft pots, drag them around if you can.

Ok first time with coco and well every thing was fine till about 3 weeks ago my growth has slowed down and the lower leaves were yellowing and curling upwards after 3 weeks of checking going over everything i checked my run off today ph is 7.2 and ppm 1600 wow WTF i feed @900ppm and i pH @5.9-6.1 however i have noticed that if i let my nutes sit for a few days after being mixed and ph'ed my pH rises to 7.0-7.5. Any advice to correct this problem and prevent it in the future would be greatly appreciated

Might have PH lock out, run plain water through your pots to give them a "flush"

Hey Del was using lemon juice but i have just found my old GH Ph down so gonna give that a try i have a grocheck from hanna and check the calibration every other watering. I think that I was also not watering enough when i watered and causing me to not get much run off there for nutes were building up. This Coco is just a learning curve I hope! one more question Are you folks buffering the coco before using?

HESI Nutes guys.

Is it OK to use the Root Stimulator and TNT at full strength or should I offset them? 5ml of each per ltr or 2.5ml or each per ltr? Also is it ok to use every feed or just during germination and around transplant time?

i wish i could help but i have never used root stimulator........i just let the pots dry when they are small to increase root mass.....
