Without a pH pen I would have no way of knowing my tapwater comes out at 9.2....

i dont know, i feel like once they had a steady root system, the "piranha" i was using really helped out. The roots webbed and are super strong, i press down on the top of the coco and compress it and it pops back up because of the roots, Im not too experienced yet but its def. the best root system i have seen for the plant size....

You're crazy Roots Excel is the one product I would never stop using, its that good..

same as you do. I use it up to the 2nd feeding in flower..Just take a look at your rootball after harvest.

My grow journal is is my signature.

We thought the issue was a pH problem. Once I adjusted the pH the problem went away.

One week later it returned. We're thinking its calmag, but I really need a professional opinion.

well im half way through a bottle man, just don't seem to be feeling it too much more over my normal regimen.

I have about another 4 weeks worth left. We shall see. I flip another room to flower in about 7 days.

After harvest do a comparison after you chop your plant.. Check out your root ball using Roots Excel versus a rootball that you didnt use Roots Excel

The problem is id have to manually water that extra plant for the comparison. My rooms are all on a drip now and im just gonna add the Roots to the rez in flower. I'll let you know how it goes though. I'll run it in the first rez in flower only which should take me to week 2.

Right on I build drip systems all the time, if you dont use them already look into the "top hat grommets " by Botanicare they are super easy to insert your drip lines into

I just checked them out. What do you use them for exactly? I don't get where they go? Between the 1/4' and the 3/4 where you would connect?

They hold your drip lines if you are making your manifold out of PVC.. YOu basically drill your hole into the PVC pipe and insert the top hat grommet and then insert your drip lines I like using them over the barbed plastic drip lines.

I use 3/4" vinyl hosing instead of PVC

I fucking hate that stuff, like my manifold to be all pretty.. It all works the same though.

I feel ya on that. I even got grittier by just running that 3/4" hose and then punchiong tiny holes in it, sticking in some tips and then running 4-5ft of 1/4 drip line off of that. I then run that directly into each pot and water 1 min every 3 days. Works a treat but not the prettiest thing.

Yeah I used to make those ugly ones too when I started using the drip systems as as you have even flow you will be fine so just try and keep all the drip lines the same length.. ^yea those are stupid pricey.

I have tried just making a loop with a 1/4" hose and putting 3 small holes in it. It seems to work fine.

I got those same drip rings from HG Hydro in Tempe. I run coco hempys and since I water every other day during late flower, I needed an easier way to water. I set up a gravity feed with a bucket up on a wire rack shelf. I mix my nutes and poor into the bucket. 1/2" tubing delivers the water to each ring in the hempy buckets. I do have a valve that I close during the adds to the feed bucket. That way I can fill the bucket and get max pressure then open the valve....that evens out the distribution to each hempy bucket. I do add some fresh RO water after each feeding to flush the rings of any salts. We will see how long they last but for now they are a life saver for a hempy application. I did get a defective ring one time that didn't deliver as much to one bucket....I simply replaced it. One day I might drill out the holes on the defective one for a single bucket project. One advantage to the watering rings is they do not disturb the coco level on top very much. Watering by hand did leave some craters in the coco no matter how patient I was while rounding the bucket. I used to see exposed roots and cover them back up...the rings cured this.

Great info and i think I may try the drip halo's Home Grown sells..

I think its a no brainer especially if you are growing a small amount of plants (say under 20). post your thoughts on them if you use em.
