A friend just gave me some Technaflora B Seaweed. I have never used seaweed and would like to know what it does for the plants and how I should use it. I currently use Botanicare CNS17 for coco.

Curious to know if anyone uses it and how it has worked out for them.

I never really thought of buying the coco specific nutes.... hmmmm... whats the difference? What brand would you go for? Canna?
I currently use Botanicare CNS17 for COCO & Soil. It works fine, and i've done 2 successful grows using it. The only thing i've done differently on my second grow is to make my mix a little stronger than the higher recommendation. No problems and easy to work with. As soon as I run out I will try another coco specific nutrient. Where I live no one carries Canna yet, but I hear it's coming in soon. I'm thinking of using the House & Garden for my next. We'll see, I might try something else.

Hi everyone.

Have a few coco specific questions.

Have read through this thread trying to answer these specifics but getting varying answers so here goes.

Im new to the coco medium

1. At the start of thread it says you flush medium before use, but not alot is said by anyone else in regards to this, does everyone flush before putting plants in the medium?

2. watering cycle?, so using coco requires a daily water? i was using soil medium and doing a water every second day, if it is a daily water do u water the same amount as soil??? or do u water till you see run off at the bottom?

3. When i used soil i was doing a feed every 2nd water ( 4 days apart), now if i water daily as I have seen alot in this thread, does that
mean i feed every 2nd day now?? eg water, feed , water feed???, where as soil i was watering every second day and feeding every other water.

i got some in 1 gal pots and i can go two days without having to water 3 days max but than their dry and hungry but never let them go long enough to droop they are 1 gal hempy buckets though so the 3 inch res at the bottom gets them thru the none water days

Hey aotearoa

Im currently on my first run in canna coco but i can answer some of your Q's

1. Some coco you do need to flush and some you need to buff also it all depends on witch brand you got.... like ymbp allready said canna you dont its ready from the bag.

2. The correct time to water coco is when you pots have lost half there weight in water so......It all depends on you pot size if your in like a 3-4g pots you may only have to water ever 3rd day or every other at first, then when there big maybe 1feed a day when lost half the weight.... but cos coco's hydro your best with smaller pots like 2g an water everday at first and twice a day when there big....you could water even more if your losin half the weight... so it depends on how quick there dryin up the amount your usin will go up when the plants get bigger and are drinkin more. And try to get 15-25% run off each time

3.You should feed everday in coco its hydro if you water with plain water an get run off you will have washed out the old nutes an there wont be enough left for the plant till you feed again....you would prob still grow some bud but you results will be way better with feed every time.

hope this helps you out

I've got an Aurora Indica mother plant in a 3 gallon smart pot that requires water and food at least every 24 hours or it WILL wilt, the beast is outa control, I'm probably going to snuff her out after the next pass (I never get used to killing good weed plants but my flower room is not tall enough to handle something that size even with 9' ceilings). Even the AI's in flower go almost dry everyday and they are in 3 gallon smart pots. The Ogre plants can go 2-3 days without problems but the AI's need water and food every day....

I never really measured... I use 18 gal. reservoirs, and in a table of 6 plants it lasts about 3 days give or take... so a gallon or more I quess. The Aurora Indicas use FAR more water/food than the Ogres. I use a pump with a garden hose and a 3' water wand with shower head. I just water untill it just starts to flow out the bottom but not to much....

I'd ditch the Ogre if it wasn't nuke powered coma weed. Easy to clone but a bitch to get fed just right. The AI is finicky to clone but will eat anything....

BTW. Nice plant you got there!

Pukka pretty much summed it up
just buy a good name coco like canna and you can use it straight out of the bag as its pre buffered
but this is what i do with watering mine
i have mine set up to a recycling reservoir and auto feed them for 1 min 3 times a day in veg and then when i turn em i change to 1min 4 times a day about 2weeks into flower
i have 13mm line runinning to my pots with four 4mm tubes about an inch or 2 long inserted into the 13mm line and feeding each pot and they seem to love it
keep in mind im new to growing but not the scene and well my first grow was 1 plant and i ended up with 8.5 ounces cured and manicured doing it this way

thanks pukka im all good now i bit the bullet and just hit them with a dose of grow big and now theyre back to normal for the most part i stopped feeding them grow big at two weeks since their autos just looked at the feeding chart that comes with the ff nutes it actually tellsyou to feed them grow big during the last few weeks of flowering and since its a cross of purple gem and sour 60 autos they lean to the sativa side of things and gonna take longer thatn normal to fully be dne thinking they may actually go longer thatn my 12/12 strains which is a bummer
