yeaa well you succeeded with your goal. i learned a ton of useful tips about feeding and when, flushing, transplanting and other stuff that i know i'll wonder about later. after reading that i feel pretty confident i'll make it to harvest haha.

i have a question i didnt really find much on.

Is supercropping and LST fine to do in coco?

I've done both with-out an issue . . . . it seems like my usual strains frost up a lot earlier in coco as compared to soil but maybe that is just me. Anyone else do a few runs with the same strains and notice that with coco?

yea i figured it would be fine but i dont know enough about hydro yet. i did it with my soil grow and my one plant ended up with 8 tops...then it turned out male. :spew:

temps stay around 70-75...humidity 40-50...why would the coco coir plants show nute burn but not the soil plant?

yea thats weird... are u getting run off when u water?

i cant tell from the pics.... are the edges burnt or just curled?

are their any other problems besides the curled edges?

and what kind of nutes are u using?

I am not as experienced as Jberry but, i have experienced similar problem. the claw shape leaves make could be too much nitrogen. As soon as I backed of nitrogen the problem went away.

yes i get runoff when i water about 5.8-6 ph. tips look burnt edges are just curled. some parts of the leaves are mixed in color. yellow mixed with green blotches. the only other problem is some of the leaves have holes in them which they were grown like this. no insects appear to be doing this. i use GH line of nutrients supplement with cal mag and humic acid

im still gunna say it looks like nute burn of some sort even tho its not burning your soil plants it still looks like a overdose... maybe N as bender said?... idk

how much cal mag are u using and r u using tap water or RO ?

mag def. can look like a blotchy burn and will curl leaves calcium overdose looks similar i think...

i water with tap water....i let it age. i know its not the best but getting an ro system isnt priority at the moment. i use 1 tsp per 1 gallon ratio of cal mag. im thinking its an overdose of something too. thanks jberry for helping. obviously you are playing a big role in keeping this thread alive. what should my ppm in and ppm run off be?

I had the same thing happen when I started with coco. Except for the culring leaves, that looks like heat stress. The other looks like a ph thing. I started at 5.8- 6 when I started and my run-off was far higher than the ph water going in. You might try dropping the ph down to 5.5 and check your run-off. What kind of coco are you using? If it isn't a premium coir that has been re-buffed and you didn't flush.. this could be part of it.
Also, remember with coco, you don't want to let them dry out completely like soil. Coco holds a lot of moisture, but also dries out faily quick too.
Just my 2 cents:weed:

if ur using tap than i would nt add more than around 100 ppm's of cal mag which should be added first (b4 nutes).

try watering well once or twice with a low ppm mix of like 600ppm's to flush and then u could try working ur way back up to somethen higher, i usually peak around 1300 ppm max.

This thread helped me get started in coco.....this was my first coco grow and I will never look back.....so thanks to all who have contributed to this thread with useful info, especially J who really helped me down the right path early on in my grow.

Here's a Super Silver Haze from my first coco grow, harvested yesterday at 12.5 weeks.....not weighed her in yet, but she has put out for sure! :)

Thanks again all, this site rocks!

hey guys. im kinda stressing out about my feedings. i wondered onto this site http://www.angelfire.com/cantina/fourtwenty/articles/profiles.htm and now i thinking im over complicating things cuz i have about 4 notebook pages of different npk values at different strengths and adding and subtracting them. im trying to get close to the "Mel Franks Insiders guide" levels for Moderate light(im using CFLs). i burned my last plant pretty bad and im trying to avoid it this time. i know that none of you are familiar with Fox Farm nutes so just based on NPKMg values, could some one tell me if im good or if i'll burn it?

this is what i have come up with...its a slight variation from the feeding schedule on their site. GB=Grow Big, BB=Big Bloom, and TB=Tiger bloom
its still a seedling so week 1 doesnt start til 12-10. i plan of vegging for 4 weeks and then switching to 12/12.
............................................N P K Mg
week 1&2- 5mlGB 15mlBB= 38-16-85-3

week 3-5- 15mlGB 15mlBB= 114-38-211-19

week 6&7- 5mlGB 5mlTB 15ml= 63-60-127-12

week 8- 5mlBG 5mlTB 22.5mlBB= 63-62-138-12

week 9 until end- same as weeks 6&7

the Mg levels are pretty low so i was gonna add epsom salt but i read a few places that since FF is organic it will kill the microbiology in the nutes...is that right? i thought i'd try a very slight PK spike in the 4th week of flower, which is why week 8 is different.

anyway, let me know what you think. im open to any suggestions...other than getting different nutrients haha.

thanks

thanks, you dont think i should water next without nutrients? i understand you already told me what you think....but im curious about why you would continue to feed.
