You should start with some research...
This will help:
It's called "coco" not cocoa.

It is made from coconut fiber and is an inert media used in both hydroponics and organics. You will need a coco specific nutrient system high in Calcium and low in Potassium. The cation exchange capacity depends on a delicate balance of buffer elements. Without doing a little research, at least knowing what to call it, you're going to have a lot of problems in coco.

Just keep looking around. Cannatalk issue... 8... I think... Is all about coco and provides you with a good beginners concept. A very good beginners guide to coco can be found here: http://forum.grasscity.com/coco-coir/620656-askeds-coco-guide.html

Most of it is pretty true. Don't listen to the dudes amendment advice.

You don't want to do that. There will be a massive water pressure differential between the two mediums, you want to keep that balanced or the roots won't grow in properly.

I would just leave it in soil until your done and do a coco grow from new. Save your coco for some new plants.

Took these pics the other day, it's been a little over 3 weeks of flower. I'm in Nutrifield compressed coco, using Botanicare CNS17 for Coco nutes and a 1,000W Digilux bulb. I'm pretty happy so far, they're nice and healthy.

It's a mix, Shiva & Afghan Kush. First time growing with these strains. Does anyone know how long they normally take to flower ?

Just rinse the roots thoroughly afer pulling them outta the soil.....should be no problem.....I have taken plants from soil and put them into straight rock/hydro with no problems....Peace

No....Take them out of that soil ASAP....That stuff is no good.....You can go to Rite Aid and get a measuring eye dropper that they use for baby medicine to measure small amounts like 1 ml...Rinse the coco before you transplant....Once you transplant ph some water and just add Roots Excel....Drench them really well and then again in a couple of days...do this for about 3 waterings and then, from there, use very light nutes....like 1 ml a gal. of A&B....slowly bump them up every other watering until you get to about half the strength of what they suggest....Then hit me up again and depending on how they look....I can guide you through the next step......Peace

Thanks a lot man. Im goin to do that right away. I do believe Im going to have to choose 4 to repot cause all I was given was four pots. Dont know the sex yet unless I put 2 in each pot till I find the males and cut the root ball out without "hopefully" destroying the other. Basically I have 8 really good bag seed plants in hopes I get 4 females.
Thanks for the advice much appreciated. I will keep you informed.
