Cloning from Fan Leaves

well this is all i got so far on my fan leaf..hahahahahah ill keep the progress up..

ill keep ya posted.....im sure its gonna take awhile but i will grow the fan leaf for as long as i can ...i'll try to see if i can keep a weekly pic update for you guys

Try snipping a lobe off or something.. Alot of ppl have accomplished that, but I've seen none go further with all the opportunity in the world.. Those are pretty nice roots, an all around good candidate to try to facilitate nodes without killing it..
All cases I've seen since the overgrow days though don't progress without some sort of attempt to stimulate undifferentiation up top..

Ok i didnt do it...you must be right, i must be wrong.

I did this and all i got was a rooted leaf. maybe i did it wrong?

There will be no results. Woomeister isnt posting "results" because he did not get any. A LEAF is not going to produce new nodes, and without a node already there to grow from, it cannot grow any further.

This is the reason we clone branches, with nodes- and not just the leaves. Nodes will produce leaves, and additional nodes to grow from. Leaves cannot produce additional leaves, or new nodes.

don't get me wrong a rooted leaf is cool.....Just not a giant cola.

1. As the concentration of cytokinin accumulates in the callus, it stimulates shoot formation. The shoots then can grow up. In the end you have a shoot with roots...a whole plant!

This is a quote from one of my Uni books. It works in all varieties of plant, it is just harder in some than others. AVP can be done in several ways and has been done for eons! The reason people dont do this with cannabis is that it takes a while, but if you dont care about that then you dont need mother plants and it is just something different to mess about with.

Well if rooted fan leaves dont grow nodes it would still be cool to maybe continue to grow the fan leaf as big as possible. Would the fan leaf continue to grow bigger?
Im curious cuz id like to make a holloween costume with fan leaves and possibly some camping gear like sleeping bags and such.

Eh I think its awesome and toke's pic of a rooted fan leaf clone sold me... It would be cool as fawk to grow an insanely large fan leaf ive been needing more things to do..

The *ONLY* way you're getting anything from a fan leaf clone without nodes is to nick the outer cell walls of the stem after rooting and literally DRENCHING it with hormones to force cell deviation and force the cells that form at nodes to be produced.

Very time consuming, and VERY COSTLY AND DIFFICULT to maintain, with an absolutely dismal percentage rate of success. The hormone alone to force cell deviation costs over $100 per 50mL. The pot growers at Oxford, MS tried that and decided it's not feasible and too costly.

Yes, it can be done. Without a major lab and some major money, your chance of success is pretty much ZERO.

IMO though, if you have a rooted fan leaf go ahead and experiment.. Not like its much good for anything else..

ya...almost anything can be done. its just how much money you have to do it. i'm sure you could turn a pot plant into a fruit bearing plant by fucking with its dna..... how bad ass would that be
