you can successfully clone a fan leaf as in it will root, but it wont grow as the hormones have no direction to go, even by tweaking the fan leaf it wont work
(Ive never tested it myself and i wont go search a link but i do remmeber this topic being brought up previously, not sure who the info comes from probably brick top or uncle ben)

from what ive heard u need atleast 1 plant node to clone and have ur plant grow, a single fan leaf w/ no nodes just wont grow

ive harvested mine and left the stalk with some green growth for energy and the little shoots and put it back into veg and when the shoots got bigger with nodes i took cuttings and had rooted clones every time by saving the stalk and some of the lower under growth!
