clones wilt under fluorescent bulb

I actually have great success with my cloning method in domes and peat pellets just had a question on lighting. I have a little one strip fluorescent bulb that i use but seems my clones always start to droop under it even though there is barely any heat coming from the light. When i put my clones under my kitchen sink lights they seems to perk right up and be happy. How close should a fluorescent bulb be from the top of your dome?

my seedlings get more light than my clones. Clones shouldn’t need much. If you have a dome ambient window and room lighting has worked well for me

To expand on what Fallguy said.

Ambient/indirect light is best for clones, if they get too much light they try to photosynthesize instead of putting out roots, and since there are no roots the cutting can't get nutrients & she eats herself.
